After reading so many positive ++ reviews for this book, I stepped outside my regular zone of Functional Health and Nutrition, documentaries and a narrow alley of authors I trust. I am SO GLAD! Rob Lowe has written an extraordinarily charming, excellently written, and, his acting skills enhance his fabulous narration!
This is the most enjoyable book I have listened to in ages! Will do his 2nd book as well. I have restricted my listen to ONLY IN CAR bc of

Historia
For more than 50 years, bizarre events at a remote Utah ranch have ranged from the perplexing to the wholly terrifying: vanishing and mutilated cattle, huge otherworldly creatures, invisible objects emitting magnetic fields, and more. For the family living at Skinwalker Ranch, life was under siege, and no one had been able to explain the horrors that surrounded them...But maybe science could. Leading a first-class team of research scientists, Colm Kelleher spent hundreds of days and nights on the Skinwalker property.

Exceptional FACT sharing & Theoretical Physics! Excellent!!
Revisado: 06-05-22
This is one of the best books that I have listened to on Audible! This is a very difficult subject to cover completely and authentically. The author did this with excellent balance and thoroughness fr facts, Theoretical Physics to the skeptic’s point of views.
The performer, Mr. Bendena hit every mark with precision: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was written from an intelligent point of view with questions and scientific inquiry. No hysterical nonsense & bs to insult you.
I highly recommend this. George Knapp’s involvement sold me.

A MUST listen! EXCELLENT! THE most complete health book.
Revisado: 10-25-20
Finished it last night. Restarting it today. This is invaluable.
I have worked with people and their health for a out 35 years. I had a severe illness for 18 years. If I could have listened to this book back then: (a) I wouldn’t have gotten ill, and (b) could have helped so many others more effectively. The power of genes effects everything! They thoroughly cover diet, stress, sleep, exercise, and my favorite part: meditation- what it is and how to do it effectively. Current scientific research + the total body, mind and spirit point of view, with a 3 stage plan for each area makes this VERY doable. Favorite COMPLETE health program! // Reader: So well done. Gentle accent, clear diction, emphasis and stresses clearly addressed material. // Restating this book this morning. Then to SUPER BRAIN, followed by ...want to know? He tells the listener in this book what to include! Join me!

Material is, generally, good. Narration is rough.
Revisado: 06-16-16
Where does How Not to Die rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Content is fine and excels in many parts but is terribly hard to listen to for me. I must separate the material from the presentation. There are other audio books with similar material focusing on plant based diets that are more listenable. Wouldn't buy this again.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
No. This is non fiction so 'pace' is inconsequential as there is no 'story'. Here is the problem for me: the author is reading the book and he isn't a voice actor. He tries to be creative in his speaking to 'make it interesting', and it doesn't work. I don't know what studio he is in but the audio is in consistant. He speaks too quickly and doesn't enunciate clearly. Hard to listen to, for me, on top of the affect of his speaking.

Historia
In September 1960, John Steinbeck and his poodle, Charley, embarked on a journey across America, from small towns to growing cities to glorious wilderness oases. Travels with Charley is animated by Steinbeck’s attention to the specific details of the natural world and his sense of how the lives of people are intimately connected to the rhythms of nature—to weather, geography, the cycles of the seasons. His keen ear for the transactions among people is evident, too, as he records the interests and obsessions that preoccupy the Americans he encounters along the way.

I loved this audible book. Gary Sinise truly was a wonderful & believable reconteur of Mr Steinbeck's Travels with Charley. Frankly, I hope Gary Sinise becomes a ¾ full time audio actor. He's up with the best & this book proves it to me.
The love of my life was a 75 lb black standard poodle boy. Everyone wanted to know if his name was Charley. Now I understand why. Next time...
I recommend this book wholeheartedly. Excellent for a long road trip which is what I did. Please! Enjoy!!

America's first families are unknowable in many ways. No one has insight into their true character like the people who serve their meals and make their beds every day. Full of stories and details by turns dramatic, humorous, and heartwarming, The Residence reveals daily life in the White House as it is really lived through the voices of the maids, butlers, cooks, florists, doormen, engineers, and others who tend to the needs of the president and first family.

Discretion and Authentisity: Behind closed doors.
Revisado: 08-30-15
Would you listen to The Residence again? Why?
I would listen to this again. The performance was gentle and forthright. I worked in a privileged situation like The Residence for many years. What I saw , heard and experienced was not at all what was represented to the public. It should not have been either because it would have been out of context and thus misunderstood. This is the quandary of confidentiality and the necessity of confidentiality. It can, however, devolve into lies and deception for any number of reasons and agendas. Each justification is another layer that buries the truth of any moment or situation and it will never see the light of day. This book is the accounting by various people who served Presidents and their families. Sure, they had considerations about their sharing being viewed as a betrayal of loyalty. Some staff wouldn't participate. Thanks be to those who did because it truly gave me an unvarnished insight into the everyday-humanity of the Presidents and their families and their private personalities versus what is represented to the public. Because of my personal perspective in the obsessively private world of a public family, I can, perhaps, a unique way, appreciate and recognize the honest remarks shared in this narrative . I was driving East to West across the United States while I listened to this book. As I looked out across the flooded spring landscape of Nebraska or southward to the turbulent tornado ravages of eastern Colorado, I had an intense awareness that the private President and his family was/ is accountable to THIS very public land. I wondered if each particular President being focused upon had ever taken this drive. Has this man ever dodged severe storms on the plains? How cerebral was he? Unaware, arrogant or compassionate and kind? This book gave me an insight into the heart (if there was one) of the private person who made decisions for our nation. I don't believe anything that comes through the spin of the media. I do find truth and humanity through the generous, candid sharing of the house staff. I was very sorry for this book to end.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Residence?
There are two things that stand out 3 months after finishing this book:1) The kindness and lack of affect of George and Barbara Bush with the people who supported them in The Resisdence was exceptional. 2) The ugly, vulgar nature of Lyndon Johnson was clearly detailed.
Have you listened to any of Karen White’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have never listened to Karen White perform before. I very much appreciated the gentle and dynamic quality she gave the book. I would consider seeking out her other work.
Any additional comments?
I would love to see this quality and depth given to historical Presidents, taken from journals of staff members, etc.

Dr David Perlmutter makes this critical information accessible & understandable, Fellow Lay Person! VERY well performed~
Please consider downloading his previous book: GRAIN BRAIN as these 2 books are really sequential.
I learned SO much from this book. I now have leads to follow to ease depression in my clients plus much more. The audio book is so excellent that a) I will buy the hard copy, b) get Dr P's cookbook and c) start this book from the beginning immediately. I just finished it this afternoon for the first time. Then I will go back and listen to GRAIN BRAIN again.
I am a nutritional professional. I have a reading/listen list for my clients. These books are now on it.

"What should we have for dinner?" To one degree or another, this simple question assails any creature faced with a wide choice of things to eat. Anthropologists call it the omnivore's dilemma. Choosing from among the countless potential foods nature offers, humans have had to learn what is safe, and what isn't. Today, as America confronts what can only be described as a national eating disorder, the omnivore's dilemma has returned with an atavistic vengeance.

From the field and the flock to our tables! SMART!
Revisado: 10-25-12
Would you consider the audio edition of The Omnivore's Dilemma to be better than the print version?
Michael Pollan is brilliant. Listening is more convenient for me plus I enjoy the aspect of live theater over my headphones~~ if you have a good reader. Scott Brick does a fine job. Watch Michael Pollan speaking on a YouTube clip and you will immediately understand that this man is exceptional. He courageously takes on the journey of our food in the form of the history of wheat to, and I could NOT do this- engaging himself thru the entire process of getting that chicken on your plate: the whole disgusting process. His writing saves us all and it is WELL worth the journey. I will listen to his other books. I trust his integrity in his choice of expression- no matter what. If he can question, interview and wade in it, I most certainly have the heart to be enlightened by his process. Thanks, Michael Pollan!
What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?
Mr Pollan's research is stunning. His expression of his findings is poetic no matter what the subject being covered. I, frankly, was not sure that I could actually make it from jacket cover to epilogue as I knew some of what was going to covered. This book was only brilliant.
Which scene was your favorite?
Joel Salatin is a mid-western farmer. Michael Pollan included Mr Salatin's WHOLE agricultural process in a way that was engaging. Sustainability is a possibility. Proven here.
Any additional comments?
It is a great challenge to have the courage to look at the history of what is on our dinner plate or breakfast menu. We are so disconnected from the process of what we eat and where it comes from that it confronting the actual subject of Holistic Nutrition seems very daunting. We are disconnected from the awareness that there are more neurons in our brain than stars in the universe and the miracle that we are as physical bodies is a REAL MIRACLE. Let this book assist you by being an extraordinary 'listen' as an invitation to feel your heartbeat and breath!

Truly inspiring & well done~
Revisado: 03-14-12
Where does Miracles Every Day rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
What added to this book so much for me was that it was NOT a performance by the narrator. On the contrary, Ms. Mazur 'got out of the way' and was a vehicle for the story being shared. I loved the book because the PRESENCE of Dr. Nemeh's relationship with God and the Holy Spirit was what filled me with each listening and to this moment.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved that Dr. Nemeh has the courage to authentically LIVE his relationship with God with no apologies, compromises or shyness. This takes great courage to know in your heart what Dr. Nemeh knows and shares it so generously and selflessly. He lives the 'leap of faith' refered to often. He life expands what's possible in my world. I so appreciated having the information to send a prayer request to him and he will pray over it. I am a caregiver and have claimed Dr. Nemeh as my partner with the folks that I love, care for and pray for each day.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I will be happy to relisten to this book many times. I look forward to a long road trip! I listened to this book while preparing food for the gentleman that I care for so that Dr. Nemeh and his wife, Kathy, would lend their love and care into each of my small actions for a blessing. When I started with my gentleman, the doctor wanted to protect my heart because she was sure that he would die shortly. NOT SO! He now can drive, go out on errands & with friends. Each little battle won may just win the war!
Any additional comments?
Open your heart and allow Dr. Nemeh's faith to inspire and enrich you. Only our MIND has the corner on IF's, AND's or BUT's so let this book open new possibilities and be a vehicle for extending your reach in the world. Suspend your belief's for a few hours and 'pretend' that everything you hear has the power to infuse YOUR life with great love~ It has been working for me!
