Historia
It’s not even a clue. It’s a whisper, a trace, a ghost echo, drifting down through the decades via chance connections so fragile that they would disintegrate in the puff of a breath. But it’s enough to get legendary former Marine sniper Bob Lee Swagger interested in the events of November 22, 1963, and the third bullet that so decisively ended the life of John F. Kennedy and set the stage for one of the most enduring controversies of our time. Swagger begins his slow night stalk through a much-traveled landscape. But he’s asking questions that few have asked before....

Just listened again
Revisado: 04-23-25
I started the next Swagger book after finishing this one but couldn’t concentrate because I kept thinking about The Third Bullet and clues along the way that I must have missed. So I decided to stop that book and listen to Third Bullet a second time in a row and I loved it again! This time I took a handful of notes on specific characters and things that I thought could be clues on my phone while listening again. It was fun to do that and then look back when the book was done. What a good book and by far my favorite writer! I am ready to move on to the next book and can’t wait to find out what it has in store. Hunter books are not predictable for me so are very fun to read!

New York Times best-selling author Stephen Hunter is back with another breakneck thriller, in which ex-Marine sniper, Ray Kruz, must outwit a group of murderous Somali terrorists who’ve laid siege to the Mall of America. Recently retired marine sergeant Ray Kruz has been talked into a mall trip by his fiancé, the beautiful Molly Chan. For Ray, Molly represents a way to reconnect with normal life, something his 20 years in the service and five tours in two combat zones have prevented.

Narration is distracting
Revisado: 03-31-25
No need for male narrators to attempt a high pitched female voice. Very distracting from the story. But as always, great storytelling by Stephen Hunter!

Pretty bad
Revisado: 01-05-25
I bet the story would have been good because Stephen Hunter is such a great writer but all that was available on Audible was the abridged version which I wasn’t happy about at first. However it’s probably a good thing that there isn’t the unabridged available because to sit through that awful performance any longer would be torture. This was the worst performance in a book I have ever heard.

Great book
Revisado: 12-31-24
It was tough to follow in places because of all the names but when I stuck with it, everything fell into place and any confusion I had was resolved. The story is subtle but so rich with vibrant details. It’s old school espionage. Loved every minute of it and might listen again sometime. Dick Hill was amazing as always.

Jack Reacher's part of it. And before the sun sets, this ride could cost them both their lives.

Revisado: 07-31-24
This Reacher book is the best so far! Although does anyone else notice how often the word “shrugged” is used in this book and the previous books? Haha! It makes me laugh every time. Still love all the books so far!

Politics
Revisado: 04-20-24
This was such a great story and would have been a 5 but please leave out the politics. I like to listen to books to escape. I don’t need the author’s obvious opinion shoved in my face.
Peter Giles gave a fantastic performance!

A once up-and-coming detective, she's been given this beat as punishment after filing a sexual harassment complaint against a supervisor. Terrible reader
Revisado: 02-19-24
Great story with a surprise ending that I didn’t see coming but I couldn’t stand the reader. She read so fast I sometimes couldn’t understand her. It was also very distracting from the story. I ended up slowing it down to .85 and that made her reading bearable.
