Audible listen. The audio was okay. I didn’t fully love the narration, but he did okay. I like the bit of twang to his voice.
Enjoy the murder mystery aspect, and that the story takes place in a magical town. Sweet dynamic between Anna and Jackson too! A fun light romance. I enjoyed it.

Don’t believe what they tell you about Robin Hood, outlaw of Sherwood Forest. There never was such a man. But there is a woman, and that’s me, Robynne: fox shifter, master archer, and jaded outlaw with a fierce desire for justice. The legends are just as wrong about the Merry Men. Little John is a stubborn, muscle-bound bear shifter — and not at all little in all the best places. Friar Tuck is a sexy-as-sin lion shifter whose dreams of becoming a knight are dashed by family commitments. Now, he’s praying for a miracle — and a little action. Any action.

Such a fun series!! All 3 books!
Revisado: 07-16-24
Great to get the whole series in 1 set! Love that! Robin Hood reimagined too! Love it!
Both narrators did great too and the audio was a good production. Enjoyed the listen!
Book 1 - Tempting the Sheriff
Robin Hood with some twists! Love fairy tale re-imaginings! Add in shifters and I’m loving it even more! Fox shifter Robynne has an idiot brother, who is causing mischief by robbing the rich, so she has to essentially clean up after him and the other merrymen. She’s in a less than ideal situation, but her loyalty and good heart shine through. A bit of a curve ball is thrown her way, when a love she thought dead re-emerges, but they aren’t exactly working in the same circles. Turns out lost love Daniel is the new sheriff of Nottingham! Love their connection!! Their feelings are so sweet and touching! Love how this second chance romance develops. And he’s a dragon shifter! Wonderful! This isn’t exactly a cliffhanger, but there is more story to be told for this world and these characters. Looking forward to the rest of the series! A fun read!
Book 2 - Tempting the Outlaw
Fun series!! This continues the story from the first book, but focuses on Little John and new character, Willa Scarlet. Love that this is Robin Hood reimagined! Willa has been tasked with getting a treasure stolen by the great thieves Robin Hood and the Merrymen, but things don’t quite go as planned. Willa needs to take matters into her own hands, but that puts her on the wanted list of Nottingham. Willa needs some help from Robin and company, but gets off on the wrong foot with John. A bit of forced proximity helps these two stubborn people see things differently. Always enjoy the shifter aspect too! Looking forward to the next book!
Book 3 - Tempting the Maiden
Enjoyed this whole series!! I was fully on board for the Robin Hood aspects for this series and the addition of shifters. So fun! Gotta love some sweet romance too! This one has Marian and Tuck as the leads, but Robynne Hood and the Merrymen are along for the ride too. A dash of intrigue and action as they work towards helping those in need and take down the corrupt. Entertained the whole time!

Revisado: 07-16-24
Both narrators did a good job and the quality of recording is good. The narration was a bit slow, but I still enjoyed the listen.
Entertaining! Love the suspense and passion! Like the second chance angle to the romance between Gwen and Callum, but not a fan that Gwen married Callum’s brother and is now pregnant with the dead brother’s baby. That’s not a good look for Gwen to be with both brothers. Love Callum’s protective nature; I enjoy the scenario of there being a dangerous element after the heroine, and the hero needing to be there to help her out. They do have good chemistry and emotional depth to their romance. There are some loose ends left open to the mystery, so there is a bit of a cliffhanger there. Overall, I’m excited to read more in this series; ready for more action and suspense!

Historia
Ten years ago, six friends went on vacation. One made it out alive... In that instant, college student Quincy Carpenter became a member of a very exclusive club - a group of survivors the press dubbed “The Final Girls”: Lisa, who lost nine sorority sisters to a college dropout's knife; Sam, who endured the Sack Man during her shift at the Nightlight Inn; and now Quincy, who ran bleeding through the woods to escape the massacre at Pine Cottage. Despite the media's attempts, the three girls have never met.

Hoped for something different
Revisado: 05-22-24
Narrators did a good job. Quality performance.
I thought I would like this, but I just didn’t care for it. Mainly because the characters are unlikable, so I just don’t care. There is a story in the present and then chapters from the past about what happened to Quincy and why she’s a final girl. She’s the only survivor of a massacre that killed all her “friends”, but a fun twist, is that she has no memory of what happened that night.
In the present, Quincy is a mess of a person, who puts on a mask to act like she’s okay. That’s pretty much the majority of the story; Quincy trying to act like she’s fine, but is really crumbling behind her picture perfect façade. Then another final girl arrives at Quincy’s when yet another final girl has turned up dead, and Quincy just starts acting like an idiot. Both Quincy and Sam are just so annoying I couldn’t stand this story, so I started skimming most of their scenes together. That’s difficult to do with an audiobook, but I was curious how the story would end. The ending was okay, but I just didn’t really care. So yeah, wish I didn’t buy this.

Easton Harrison always gets what he wants. All this rock star has to do is crook his finger and women come running. Unfortunately, hookups don’t inspire the songs for which he’s known, and Easton hasn't been able to write a word since his last hit. After he lands an exclusive gig in Vegas at the Millennium Hotel, the pressure’s on to write a new album. But Ireland, the challenging and sexy-as-hell cocktail waitress who works downstairs at the hotel’s swanky bar, is exactly what he needs. She's his muse whether she likes it or not. Too bad she doesn't date musicians.

Both narrators did great! Webber is one of my favorite narrators! A wonderful listening experience!
Quick sweet read with a fun premise. Don’t love musician romances, but this was a cute one. Easton is struggling to write new songs, but finds his new muse in cocktail waitress/bartender, Ireland. Unfortunately for him, Ireland isn’t exactly a fan of musicians, but she can’t resist Easton’s charms. The “drama” was on the stupid side because it was a bad look for the common sense of one of the characters, but overall, I enjoyed this story! Good passion and sweet connection!

Annoying lead, but interesting series!
Revisado: 05-22-24
Audible listen. Narrator did a good job; she fit Audrey’s character well, and the recording was of good quality. There’s a male narrator for Logan’s story, he did a good job as well. I do love when you can get a whole series for 1 credit! Super awesome!
Book 1 - Huntress - 4 stars
Cool idea! Audrey “wakes up” in the afterlife with a sort of selective amnesia, and finds herself assigned to the hunter/huntress department. Audrey feels like she’s been assigned to the wrong department because she’s small and weak looking, seems to be of the overly girly persuasion, and it seems like she’s really bad at the training/athletic aspect. Plus, it doesn’t help that she was supposed to go through some orientation to learn about some very important aspects of the afterlife, and instead of someone telling her these important things, they just let her bumble along; those in charge of the afterlife seem very unorganized. People just don’t come clean with her; they talk in riddles, so it puts Audrey in the damsel in distress role. Audrey is likable and I can see her becoming more fierce in the future, but for now, she can be a bit bratty and naive, so that can be annoying. I tried not to be too annoyed with her since it’s not her fault that she’s clueless; the people just really suck. Overall, I found the whole premise entertaining and am looking forward to continuing on with this series. There is some entertaining actions scenes too, and there’s some interesting magical things going on in the afterlife. I would’ve liked more romance; there’s only a pinch in this book, but the story is an enjoyable one. A fun read! Hope to see Audrey growing more kick butt in the future books!
Book 2 - Warfare - 4 stars
Interesting ideas in this series! Enjoy the whole angels versus demons scenario, and needing to train to fight those demons, so they don’t take over the world. In this one, Audrey is training when she learns that evil is targeting her family, so she sets out to help them without putting much thought into it. Audrey’s act now think later mentality does get rather annoying. The big evil is trying to get Audrey, so he’s using her family to lure her in to his way of things. Also, there is some really annoying stuff with Audrey leading Jonathan on when she knows she really wants Logan; she acts like she didn’t know she was leading Jonathan on, which really put her in a negative light for me. This scenario made her come across as so selfish and rude, or if she really was so oblivious, then maybe she’s just lacking in the brains and common sense department. I’m having a difficult time not getting so frustrated by Audrey’s character, but the story is an entertaining one. Interested in seeing where this story goes.
Book 2.5 - Logan - 3 stars
This short story is Logan’s POV, and goes into his past and how he became a demon hunter in the afterlife. It was nice to learn more about Logan, but made me feel like Audrey is way too immature and young for him after reading this. Logan partied a lot and slept around with lots of women when he was alive, so Audrey’s immaturity just feels like so much more of a hurdle between Logan and Her; especially after her childish actions in the last book. It is nice to see that Logan has grown as an individual though; he was mentally weak when he was alive, but it seems death has agreed with him. Liked the story, but didn’t exactly, increase my liking of this series.
Book 3 - Dominion - 3 stars
Finale book! Audrey sets out to rescue Logan from Hell; really enjoy when Hell is a setting, makes for some fun creepiness! I do enjoy aspects of this series, but Audrey is a hard character to root for. The angels versus demons is a fun scenario, and I do enjoy the connection between Audrey and Logan. Although, I still think she’s way to immature to be in any type of romantic relationship; who in the heck hides under a bed after being caught in bed with someone? You have already been seen in bed, so trying to hide is just so idiotic. I guess it’s supposed to be humorous. Audrey has barely learned anything throughout the whole series, she continues to lack common sense and rush into decisions. Can’t stand when characters lie aka withhold crucial information, which causes problems that could have easily been resolved with honesty. Despite not liking Audrey much, I was still entertained by the story, but then the story just started to drag when a twist was introduced. I didn’t like how this story ended up; I figured early on in this series what a twist may be, and it turned out I was right, which I wasn’t happy about because I don’t like how it was handled. Too much time spent on this twist, such slow going, and then the payoff for slogging through the twist part of this book was just so rushed. So I was disappointed in that. Overall, I liked the overall premise for this series, but Audrey and the romantic aspects for this series let me down.

Quiet and aloof rock star Jake McKallister and outspoken, vivacious college student Casey Caldwell are polar opposites: Casey is bubbly and talkative; Jake is reclusive. Casey enjoyed a picturesque childhood; Jake’s childhood could only be described as a well-publicized nightmare. Jake’s life revolves around music, and Casey can’t carry a tune.

Lovely connection!
Revisado: 05-22-24
Both narrators did a great job! A good listen!
Really love the connection between Jake and Casey! So sweet! They have some fun banter; some of it was a bit too far into bro humor, but liked how lighthearted they are with each other. I’m not huge on musician romances; hate the groupie thing, but this one was a good one. Jake definitely wasn’t an angel and partook in the whole groupie thing; so gross! But, I still loved how touching the dynamic between Casey and Jake was. Jake went through a crazy trauma when he was younger and it has really affected him, so he has some walls up. Some really triggering things, so a bit of warning on that. Not really much detail on it, but still could be triggering. Casey comes along and Jake falls quickly. Casey falls fast too, but these two have some difficulties to get through before there can be a true sense of happiness. Like that we get dual POV. Enjoyed the wedding meeting for Jake and Casey, and that they both put in effort to continue being present in each other’s lives. Jake being a rock star type is a problem for the couple; as well as, Jake’s trauma from the past. Casey is a likable female lead, and Jake is likable as well. There’s some good spice too. The story does drag on at times; definitely didn’t need the stuff with Casey’s old high school enemy, or the stuff with the young fan and her mom at Jake’s concert, but overall, I liked the story. I’m not sure if I’ll continue with the next books despite really liking this one; none of the side characters really called to me, so I don’t really care to read their books. Also, after reading the premises for the next books, they didn’t appeal to me, so I won’t be rushing to read them. Maybe if they are on a good sale. Overall, a really touching story!

Delivering a rare book to a valued customer is definitely part of mild-mannered archivist Anna Whitfield's job description. You know what isn't? Protecting her precious cargo from midflight theft by the very pilot who is flying her to Half-Moon Hollow...while trying to appear as unappetizing as possible to the only other passenger, a vampire. Undead bookstore owner Jane Jameson could be waiting a very long time for her book. Possibly forever.

Luckily or possibly unluckily, she has a companion in vampire, Finn, who may or may not have some ulterior motives. Enjoyed the story and the dash of spice! Like that Anna keeps on pushing through! Revisado: 05-22-24
Narrator did a good job. She has a nice voice and gave a good performance. An enjoyable listen.
Have really enjoyed this series so far! I didn’t love this one as much as the first two, but still liked it. I think the main miss for this one with me is I just didn’t care for Gaela, and Gaela and Caine’s romance didn’t feel as touching and deep as the previous couples. They weren’t even an actual couple before the curse made him “kill” her; the story of them getting together in the past just didn’t work for me, felt like Gaela was too desperate. They don’t have the trust there between them since they really weren’t in much of a relationship, so she doesn’t really know who Caine is. Her lying and withholding his child from him is probably another reason I didn’t care for her; I get her thinking, but if she really knew him, she’d know that Caine would do everything in his power to protect them. If you have all this love for someone, wouldn’t you do everything in your power to find a cure for a curse upon them? Not just runaway and live in seclusion for 3 years. With that said, there is a good passion to their connection, and they do have some sweet moments. I also didn’t care for all the different POVs; apparently, everyone is finding their lust/soulmate. I got tired of the first meet scenarios with each couple. A lot of these possible future couples have cliffhanger endings too, so beware of that. The overall story is an interesting one though; some good danger, and I do like the overall vibe to this story. I still do like this series, and want to continue on with this author’s other books.
