A Story that sounds tired of itself

I liked the series in Netflix and was hoping for a more intriguing story, something with more depth. The ultimate I could care a F*** attitude makes you wonder why should you!! There were such interesting possibilities, such a rich world. I really liked the character in Netflix, bur I find the one in the novel’s need to have a “I feel no pain macho” attitude annoying. A pity!

Funny and so British in the best sense

Would you consider the audio edition of The Very First Damned Thing to be better than the print version?
For this type of book, yes. The performance is well paced, very easy to follow and has just the right rhythm to make the funny parts understandable and hilarious.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Very First Damned Thing?
There was no one moment, just the overall enjoyment of the rye sense of humor.
What does Jodi Taylor bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The rhythm, the different voices of her characters, the just overall fun she has with what she is reading.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Can't say that there was one, I just enjoyed listening to it. It made my ride more easy to bare.
Any additional comments?
Making it a free book was a great idea. I got hooked on the series because of this first book. I am enjoying now the rest of the series. I am not sure I would read them in paperback, although I like having the option of going from the kindle version to the audible version. The plots are "one damned thing after another," but because the characters are so funny in spite of their misery you just like to stay with them.
