Historia
Sam and Sadie—two college friends, often in love, but never lovers—become creative partners in a dazzling and intricately imagined world of video game design, where success brings them fame, joy, tragedy, duplicity, and, ultimately, a kind of immortality. It is a love story, but not one you have heard before.

Fantastic

I loved the performance, and I felt the characters were truly real. Flawed, and interesting. Definitely a must read.

Historia
Kell is one of the last Travelers - magicians with a rare, coveted ability to travel between parallel universes. As such, he can choose where he lands. There's Grey London, dirty and boring, without any magic, ruled by a mad King George. Then there's Red London, where life and magic are revered, and the Maresh Dynasty presides over a flourishing empire. There's White London, ruled by whoever has murdered their way to the throne. And once upon a time, there was Black London...but no one speaks of that now.

A little slow to start

I liked it well enough. It was tough getting into it, but I finished it and got the next book. I’m so pleased that the narrator is not the same in the next. I did not care for him, he did a fine job. I just didn’t care for it.

Young Emmett Farmer is working in the fields when a strange letter arrives summoning him away from his family. He is to begin an apprenticeship as a bookbinder - a vocation that arouses fear, superstition, and prejudice among their small community, but one neither he nor his parents can afford to refuse. For as long as he can recall, Emmett has been drawn to books, even though they are strictly forbidden. Bookbinding is a sacred calling, Seredith informs her new apprentice, and he is a binder born.

Something to listen to
Revisado: 11-26-22
This book was decent. I had hoped for more, but I finished and didn’t feel like I needed my memory bound afterwards, so I guess that’s a success. The first part was boring. The second part was great! I started to warm to the characters, and things started to happen. The third part ruined it all for me. It’s not the story I would have told, but I also didn’t write it. Mr Farmer deserves a lot better.

Trapped in a cage, beaten and handcuffed, Nathan must escape before his seventeenth birthday, at which point he will receive three gifts from his father and come into his own as a witch - or else he will die. But how can Nathan find his father when his every action is tracked, when there is no one safe to trust?

Entertaining 7/10
Revisado: 11-16-22
As the title suggests, the book is half bad jk. In all seriousness, it was good. I liked the voice actor, I definitely think he added to the overall experience. The story itself I feel could’ve been more sophisticated in nature, and I think there was a lot of room to add grit and mood.
I did watch the series first, and I think I can honestly say their deviations from the story made a lot of sense as far as entertainment.
I hope to see a growth in how the author presents the world, and hope they capitalize on this idea of clashing lineage. I know it’s a YA book, but there is a lot of potentially mature themes that I think could be presented in an appropriate manner. I am aware this is her first book, and have seen many first time authors grow tremendously throughout their series and hope that Sally does the same.
There is lots of potential, the characters are likable, there’s plenty of mystery available to expand, and it was entertaining enough.
7/10 would recommend.
