Historia
On the night of 14/15 April 1912, a supposedly unsinkable ship, the largest and most luxurious vessel in the world at the time, collided with an iceberg and sank on her maiden voyage. Of the 2,208 people on board, only 712 were saved. The rest either drowned or froze to death. How could this 'unsinkable' vessel sink and why did so few of those aboard survive? The authors bring the tragedy to life, telling the story of the ship's design, construction, and maiden voyage.

An unrivaled semi-complete history
Revisado: 11-20-24
I don’t think I could come up with a better recommendation for any Titanic fan, casual or devoted, this history book has everything you could want for an interesting read, everything you could need as a historian and it packs more than a few surprises in its pages. From the concept of Titanic to what happened to her survivors, I could not recommend this entry enough. 10/10 from me.

Historia
Ancient Egyptian civilization is so grand our minds sometimes have difficulty adjusting to it. It lasted 3,000 years, longer than any other on the planet. Its Great Pyramid of Cheops was the tallest building in the world until well into the 19th century and remains the only Ancient Wonder still standing. And it was the most technologically advanced of the ancient civilizations, with the medical knowledge that made Egyptian physicians the most famous in the world.

What can I say. It’s comprehensive, it’s dynamic, it’s interesting, it’s inspiring. I love this lecture to death (and beyond). Brier is a brilliant lecturer, and this is one of the best.

What happened??
Revisado: 03-02-23
Just… wow. Okay, let me start by saying that Wil Wheaton did a great job narrating as usual, this is solely about the book itself.
That being said… what happened??
The story is a convoluted mess, ripped straight from better sources. Books, film, anime, nothing here is fresh and new, but that’s NOTHING compared to the absolute shredding of any redeeming qualities the main character had. I was willing to overlook Wade’s stalker/Incel tendencies because the actual story was engaging and the other characters were interesting. Neither are present here, and Wade is a thousand times worse, using the power as system owner to stalk people worse than ever, randomly pop up and kill people, ignores his friends completely after a schism with Art3mis when she’s the only one that talks sense and not once grows beyond those characteristics.
The story goes beyond the 80’s and not in a good way. It’s a jumbled mess of references, no focus whatsoever, with only a few minutes to explain plot points and then spending an inordinate amount of chapters wandering a planet based around (The Artist formerly known as) Prince, and the most nonsensical technology advancement/ending I’ve ever read.
I did have a soft spot for the first book, but this book did such a good job at ruining itself, the story, the characters and the world of the Oasis that the thought of going back at all makes me uncomfortable, and Ready Player Two is the only book I’ve ever finished and then asked for a refund.
Save yourself some pain and don’t read this book if you have any love for the original.

What the...?
Revisado: 08-12-20
How do you screw up Count Dooku this badly? It was made very clear from the beginning that Dooku only saw people as either an asset or an enemy, so where did this story of familial desire come from? Where's the influence of Sidious? Where's the angry desertion because of Qui-Gon's death? you're telling me Dooku left the order in order to restore his homeworld for the sake of his family? not because he saw the Jedi Order and Republic as rotten and wanted to create a system of control for himself and Sidious' under the guise of a civil uprising? I'm sorry, this character isn't Dooku. not even close. he shares a name, but the decisions in the story baffle me. they make no sense with the established lore or continuity. it's a family fluff piece where one isnt just needed, it was wholely unnecessary. Don't waste your time with this one.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

A Science-Fiction Treasure!
Revisado: 08-20-19
A beautifully written novel with engaging and interesting characters that are all believable with science that doesn’t drag down the story with rhetoric and gives a feeling of wonder and anxiety at the fight for survival that is all too believable.
