Healing & hope blossoms in the midst of darkness

This is the last book in the Badge of Honor series by Susan Stoker. This book is an emotionally heavy read, but well worth the tissues and tears. Moose has watched Penelope struggle with her PTSD without help for too long. He’s done waiting for her to come to him. Moose pushes past Penelope’s defenses and makes her deal with her past. He knows they can never have a future if she can’t learn to cope with her capture by ISIS. Penelope has always been a natural leader, headstrong & smart, but lately finds her self confidence & trust of others deeply depleted. Can Penelope trust Moose to lead her back to the light as she battles the demons only she can see? Will she be able to fill in the blank spaces of that fateful day? And if she does, will she be able to live with her actions? And just how far and at what cost will Moose go to in order to help his Penelope heal?

As sad as I am that the Badge of Honor series is ending, this final book leaves a sense of completion and satisfaction with all of the Badge of Honor characters finding new joyful steps in the phases of their relationships. Thank you Susan for an amazing journey through this book series.

Erin Mallon did an amazing job evoking Penelope's multitude of emotions. I felt every emotion deep in my heart & my gut - a pain so deep and a love so real. Fantastic job, Erin! Your voice broke my heart in the beginning and put it back together in the end.

Highly anticipated novella with epic plot twist!

Just a quick down and dirty tidbit! There are some major plot twists that you don’t see coming that I will not spoil, but you’re so going to want to listen to this one to learn more about Adam & Anna’s relationship! You’ll find out just how deep Adam’s love for Anna runs and how far he’ll go to lay everything on the line for his woman. This book had my heart twisted up like Grandma's yarn! Well worth it though!

Fall head over heels in this fast paced, sexy read

On the Edge is a masterpiece of romance and suspense woven together in intricate detail by Brittney Sahin. This book is definitely in my top ten reads for the year! There is so much emotion! I felt every one of my heartstrings tugged and came back for more!

You are immediately drawn into the story with wonder about Anna’s past and who Adam really is. There is a wide range of emotions and even secondary characters play an integral role in the story that defines Anna & Adam’s relationship. I really enjoyed the vivid details of Dublin, Ireland. It made me feel as if I was there, right along with Anna, exploring the city for the first time.

They say the highway to hell is paved with good intentions, but could it be possible for an angel to stand by the side of the road as an intervention? That’s the great debate within Adam’s mind as he begins to fall for Anna, knowing he’s no good for her and she’s everything good in the world. Adam lives two lives, one as the devil dressed in designer suits with secrets and the other as the caring angel of a man that he becomes when he’s around Anna. Adam desperately wants to break free of his past, but at what cost? Will it shatter the fragile bonds that have grown between the couple? Or will they be strengthened in spite of the danger? Will Anna let her past define her future with Adam or can she see beyond the surface of the tortured man?

Both narrators did an incredible job bringing these characters to life! Will M. Watt has an amazing voice and his Irish brogue is sexy and spell binding! Kelsey Navarro reading as Anna had me cheering on the inside when things were good and nearly in tears when the punches rolled.

Great suspense-filled story with amazing narrators

Wrong place, wrong time, true love

The audio version of this book adds an incredible layer of creativity to this fantastic read. You can feel the intense push and pull between Eva and Luke as the narrators read the story. I’ve always loved this book, but the narration brings the story to life on a different level. I would love to see this book made into a movie someday. I highly recommend listening to the audio version of this book especially if you enjoy listening to a sexy man’s voice such as Jeffrey Kafer. Heather Costa is a new narrator to me, but her voice is pleasant, persuasive and passionate making the story through Eva's eyes quite enjoyable.

Everly “Eva” Reed longs to be seen for who she truly is and not for the family fortune tied to her last name. Eva makes a new life for herself, working as a writer & co-producer on the set of a hit TV series about Navy SEALs. Luke is a Navy SEAL recruited by his former-CIA sister to run a stealth ops group that answers to the highest levels of authority - often with direct orders from the president and off the books missions in order to keep the US safe. Luke lives and breathes fighting for his country so much so that he has no room for anything else in his life. After all when you’re the co-leader of a special ops unit and you’ve explicitly told them not to have any long term relationships unless they want to be cut from the team, you have to set the example, right? Wrong. When an op goes south, Eva is caught in the middle of it all. Forced to kidnap Eva in order to keep her safe, Luke begins to develop deep feelings for the beautiful woman. True love found in the most unlikely place

Shielding Gillian is the first book in Susan Stoker’s newest series about the men of Delta Team Two and the women they fall hard for. After all, the toughest men fall the hardest and Walker “Trigger” Robinson is no exception. Trigger is all Delta, through & through. Deadly, laser focused, protective and married to the job. But seeing some of the other Delta soldiers finding their true love has Trigger wanting a forever woman of his own. When he meets Gillian while on a hostage rescue mission, he’s thrown for a loop. Trigger is impressed by Gillian’s strength & bravery in the face of certain danger. So much that he can’t get the striking beauty out of his mind even several weeks later. When his Delta Team receives word of the potential threat of a seventh hijacker, Trigger doesn’t hesitate to make contact with the woman who’s already touched his soul and begun to capture his heart. Now if he can just keep her safe long enough to convince her they belong together forever.

Trigger & Gillian’s relationship is an intense, slow burn that leads to a powerful love. I love that Trigger wants to take things slow to make sure their feelings aren’t based solely on the highly charged emotions of the hijacking. I love Trigger’s protectiveness of Gillian and how real he is - insecurities & all. Gillian fills in the gaps of his soul perfectly.

I love how the author seamlessly adds in tidbits of life from some of our favorite characters like Truck & Mary and of course our favorite little girl Annie. The men of Delta Team Two are a great addition to a wonderful world created by Susan Stoker and I can’t wait for Lefty & Kinley’s story!

I really enjoyed the narration by Virginia Rose. She has a soothing, pleasant voice and was a delight to listen to!
