Historia
My nine-year-old daughter Hollie should be leaving school smiling and laughing with all the other children but she’s not here. I run frantically, checking everywhere, my voice growing louder, but I can’t see her bright blue eyes and heart-shaped face anywhere. Pure panic washes over me. This is my worst nightmare. Her teacher asks me if she should call the police. My heart stops. I shake my head and pretend I’ve made a mistake. I see a look of suspicion creep into the teacher’s eyes. But the police can’t know. No one can. My hands shake as I realise I’m completely on my own.

Great follow up book
Revisado: 09-30-24
Loved the story but like many, lots of drawn out drama but too short follow up/ending. I also liked the interview at the end but it shouldn't have been included in the time remaining in the final chapter..it should have been a prologue

Two sides of a review
Revisado: 06-02-24
First let me say that I struggled through this story. I have slogged thru it hoping it would get better for me. it didn't. from the bleeping out of racial names..that the author apparently wrote and then decided not to include in the audible version (at first thought maybe the publisher did it and then learned the author is the publisher), I was put off immediately. Then the main police characters are alcoholics and using drugs which makes none of them very likeable). Then the main character is having a "ciggy" every other paragraph. It was all a big wall to get through so I literally lost the story line.
The second part of my review has nothing to do with the author or story but the quality of this download has ongoing technical issues. I have taken it off my device and re-added it. closed the app. Uninstaller and reinstalled the app but continue to have the same issue. it isn't downloading properly which every time I leave the app, it doesnt remember it has been downloaded and it starts back at the beginning so I always havevto check where I am before closing. I have been an audible member for many years. Have listened to thousands of books and this is the only one I have ever had this issue with. I will not listen to any other books by this author. I know he has a big fan base but he is not the right listen for me.

Too much nonsense in the detectives interest in his partner. there were times I was extremely offended by the writing and added nothing to the story. Finished it but won't read more.

Futuristic stories not my thinh
Revisado: 03-28-23
Peter Forbes was brilliant as usual. I am disappointed by the author's story. I have loved almost all of Peter May's books but this one, much like his book Lockdown, are written mostly in the future with a political and social bent that takes a risk that his readers share his viewpoint.
