I am sorry I have tried several days now to listen to this because I want to quit smoking. every time I do the voice of the person reading it seems overwhelming, not soothing at all. It actually brings on terrible dreams when I go to sleep! I have had hypnotizing tapes before and they have never done this and worked. With this one I am actually smoking more.

reader/story do not match

The person reading this story sounds like a synthesis computer reader. not sure if it is the reader or the story and readers voice are not good together. the only thing annoying about the story is it has many spots where it says things like I should not but then again i will. or It should not be this way but is.

Slight change

With the books in this series, there is a slight change it seems to me. She does let the cops talk more and lets them try to get something done first but who allows anyone to question suspects? The main character still tells everyone to shut up we are doing my way and always is angry as she does it. Then her way gets them into trouble every time! Makes it worse for anyone who is with her. Sigh when does she learn her actions causes her loved ones pain. If i was her friend/family I would not do anything with her because my life is always at risk and she also has to have it her way all the time. I was hoping that this would change a growth in the this series that the main character would learn either by a friend or family member saying look stay away from me, you put me and my family at risk by thinking you know everything when you don't and until you give this up we can not see each other again.

there is a lot of details of what the main character see's/hear's/taste ect. the main character in this series always struggles to find who killed the person or how but needless to say Elle her friend is always a head of her, heck everyone is a head of her so by the time she comes to the conclusion of how and who everyone else but maybe 1 person knows before her. she has yet to get a killer before they strike again and her friends never tell her who it is, almost like they just want her to learn like a kid. she gets attitude to everyone who try's to help and has to talk to herself to understand they are just trying to help i probably should not be upset but look it here do as i say you see! sorry not the best series to listen to but i have heard almost all of them because i don't like to give up.

love this series! mystery with some laughs in it makes you want to listen and not turn it off. the characters are great and i would suggest starting at book 1 so that you can catch all the details, there is some recap in each book but i like the full story.

Whiny characters

I had to finish the book because i don't like quitting half way through. First off the story had potential to go good but they writer put to many adjectives in the story line. How many times can you say the same thing over and over again? You can almost bet you can here every 2nd sentence or 3rd at least two times in different ways.
2) the main Character Sarah is a whiny baby! She does not want to be bitten but wait i now have hurt feelings because you did not bite me. Over and over and over again she does things like this to where you roll your eyes and tell Liam the boyfriend/vampire i know why you always yell and have attitude with everything you think and say. Run fast and far, you will never make her happy.
3) not much depth in the story to do the adjectives taking up so much room. I think it might be the only way the story was not cut off after chapter 5. Fragile, week, not the brightest girl. Me man hear me roar man!

This writer did a awesome job on detailing enough you feel like you are watching it unfold right there with her. The voice who reads this is perfect for the main character that you honestly fall in love with her! I hope there is more to come because i will be sad if this story is over.

The story seems self absorbed

The story has potential but it is almost like you are hearing someone talk about what they wrote in their Diary . The reader Miss pronounces a few words enough that it makes you think about that as the story continues. The story centers on the main characters thoughts enough that you think she is self centered and she is always in poor me mode. There is no great details about any other character except what they may have on or what they are eating or drinking. Hard to finish the book.

I love odd Thomas books, but this one is not up to standards. The other books had Elvis the ghost in it. This one has a different ghost and he does not build a relationship with it or a character like he did with Elvis. there was always some parts before that made you smile, the way the story rolled together gave you the impression you where with him through the whole story, you kind of grew with him. this one it goes through so fast that you don't have time to grow with the story, at time's i felt like just putting the book down and walking away due to monotony of the story. Many parts were almost like a me,me,me headline. This one was not his best and i hope the others are better.
