Historia
Sasha Pierce hasn’t had a single dream since she was a child...until she accepts a substitute teaching position in the charmingly witchy village of Old Middleton. Her first dream in twenty-five years ought to be enchanting, but her wonder quickly turns to shock when she realizes that it’s not a dream at all, but an entirely different sort of magic. Catapulted through an ancient portal into the fairytale kingdom of Between, Sasha’s astonishment is swiftly upgraded to panic when she accidentally performs a supposedly impossible feat and is declared the True Queen of Between.

I Need More!!
Revisado: 08-29-24
I really enjoyed both narrators, but I will say that Lorn's made me a little sleepy, maybe because of the British accent. It was a very entertaining storyline and I am glad to see that it is only book 1, so that more in the future may be released!

Historia
Lesbian bars have always been treasured safe spaces for their customers, providing not only a good time but a shelter from societal alienation and outright persecution. In 1987, there were 206 of them in America. Today, only a couple dozen remain. How and why did this happen? What has been lost—or possibly gained—by such a decline? What transpires when marginalized communities become more accepted and mainstream? In Moby Dyke, Krista Burton attempts to answer these questions firsthand, venturing on an epic cross-country pilgrimage to the last few remaining dyke bars.

Revisado: 09-22-23
I have been talking about the lack of lesbian bars and wanting to do something similar, so when this book was recommended to me I knew it would be a great fit. I hope to see some of these bars in the future!

Hoped for more than I heard
Revisado: 07-10-23
This felt more like a book report for a private school assignment than anything. I felt that certain topics were more surface level than a deep dive into details of things witnessed as well as true feelings beyond saying Jesus will help her figure it out. She claimed she would still have to worry about the things she said being viewed negatively and judged by, but I didn't think it had enough depth within it to really have a huge concern about that. I was hoping for more but just felt disappointed more than anything.

Historia
Business consultant Rose Josten might not have officially reached “pug lady” middle age, but she’s already got the pugs—along with their little Gucci coats and trash-lovin’ appetites. Still, life is good, with her work, her sisters, and a secret hobby creating incredibly tactile (if surprisingly sexy) mindfulness videos. So why does it feel like it’s not quite enough? Which is exactly when former filmmaker Ash Stewart enters camera left, and Rose’s world suddenly goes full technicolor . . .

Wonderful Book set in PDX!
Revisado: 03-03-23
I love hearing stories out of Portland, Or because I used to call it home and everyone is pretty welcoming of different preferences there. beyond that, the author does a wonderful job of painting the picture of the characters and their struggles, as well as a beautiful connection that is built over time. I pre-ordered it and got through it so quickly once released. Highly recommend!!

Historia
Caroline Parker knows three things to be true. First, she is going to be Boston's most sought-after divorce attorney by 35. Second, given how terrible her romantic track record is, falling in love isn't in the cards for her. And third, Christmas only brings her bad luck - being broken up with not once, not twice, but three times during the holidays is proof enough of that. When she runs into Hannah Dalton on Christmas Eve, she has no reason to believe her luck will change. After all, though Hannah is probably the most gorgeous woman she's ever seen, she's also straight.

Great Holiday Story!
Revisado: 12-06-22
I love that the story line went through all of the holidays, not just one. Being a parent myself, I loved the challenges faced between balancing being a responsible parent and wanting to explore aspects of yourself at the same time. I'm sure this will be a yearly listen for me!

Historia
Pop star Leontyne Blake might sing about love, but she stopped believing in it a long time ago. What women want is her image, not the real her. When her father has a stroke, she flees the spotlight and returns to her tiny Missouri hometown. In her childhood home, she meets small-town nurse Holly Drummond, who isn't impressed by Leo's fame at all. That isn't the only thing that makes Holly different from other women. She's also asexual. For her, dating is a minefield of expectations that she has decided to avoid.

Pure Perfection!
Revisado: 02-18-22
I I have never known somebody that is asexual or seeing much of a perspective from someone that is, so it was really refreshing to be able to see that within this book. Representation matters!!! And to learn that there are so many varieties within asexuality that are all worthy and valid. Highly recommended!

I once dated a bartender and spent a lot of time in the bar getting to know the people there and this book reminded me so much of those times. Trust is a big thing to work through when interested in other people, so I really loved listening to them work through that.

Not a bad story line
Revisado: 01-19-22
I did enjoy the story, but found that it would have been better if it described the emotions of the characters as they go through different things and about each other. It just felt a little dry.
