This is a SERIOUSLY FANTASTIC Book!!!!
Revisado: 04-16-25
How absolutely wonderfully sickeningly warped the antagonists in this book are. Without going into too much detail the protagonist in this book is Jack Widow. I always hate making the comparison because Widow is his own character and a force to be reckoned with but he is similar to Jack Reacher. The reason I bring up the similarities is because the plot in this book is reminiscent to the plot in the book MAKE ME, book 20 in the Reacher series. Don’t get me wrong there are vast differences but enough that it reminded me of that book.
When Widow arrives in the town of Iron Crossings he’s only there to look into rumor he’d heard. It’s about a man who used to jump trains who disappeared in this town. Widow didn’t expect to find anything out but finds a woman whose husband disappeared the same time as the train stowaway.
At the same time as this is going on you’re given a glimpse into what a corrupt family has its hands into. It’s rather ghoulish and not recommended for the faint of heart. For the rest may I suggest that you buckle up for one heck of a ride.
Alan Philip Ormond does a phenomenal job narrating. He is unquestionably one of the best narrators in the industry today (in my opinion).
This book has my VERY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!

Another Excellent Clint Wolfe Novel : )
Revisado: 03-25-25
I’ve enjoyed every one of the BJ Bourg novels, both the Clint Wolfe and London Carter series. If you haven’t tried them I recommend both. His series are both very good procedurals as well as being believable.
In this book a honeymooning husband is murdered followed by a teenage girl. But there’s more to come. While looking for who or what is responsible multiple red herrings emerge. But the true culprit behind a string of attacks is completely unexpected.
Nick Sullivan is a master in his field! His narration of this (and every book he narrates) is superb. His accents are spot on!!
This book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!

Great Fun Series with Most Excellent Narrator…
Revisado: 03-09-25
…that would be Angela Dawe. If you haven’t listened to her before you’re sorely missing out on one of the BEST female voices in this industry. There are just a handful of top female narrators and this one fits that category.
I also HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book, author and series. If you would like to know more I would strongly suggest reading Empress Karen’s review. It’s pretty comprehensive and both her’s and my views. So Thank You, I appreciate you for the reviews you continue to write!
This book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.
Thank You for reading this a please let Empress Karen know that her reviews are appreciated so she will continue to write them. I do not know her nor did she ask me to say this. I just know how frustrating it is to continuously write reviews and not know if I’m wasting my time.
Have a great day!!

This book is AMAZING!!!
Revisado: 02-24-25
As a long time fan of Scott Bell I was very happy to see a new release from him. My only disappointment was that J Scott Bennett wasn’t the narrator. After listening I decided that Joel Richards was probably a better choice for this book and Mr. Bell knew better than I! The tone of this story is very grave and Mr. Bennett’s narrative probably would not have suited this book as well as Mr. Richards’s.
The plot of the novel is well laid out in the publisher’s summary. The protagonist (Killabrew) is on a mission to find out who murdered his much younger sister. She had been working as a prostitute for a charlatan in a minister’s clothing. What he didn’t realize was the scope of his operation.
Once breaking into the man’s operation he finds multiple underage girls being forced into prostitution. He also finds many upstanding powerful men who come to use and abuse them and sometimes the girls don’t make it out alive.
Killabrew declares war. He calls in a few close friends and of course things don’t always go as planned. There are casualties that fuel his fire. And with a fantastic ending Killabrew … Never mind, if you want to know the answer you’ll have to get it and listen to it yourself!!
This book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!

Historia
FBI Agent Gardner Camden is an analytical genius with an affinity for puzzles. He also has a blind spot on the human side of investigations, a blindness that sometimes even includes people in his own life, like his beloved seven-year-old daughter Camila. Gardner and his squad of brilliant yet quirky agents make up the Patterns and Recognition (PAR) unit, the FBI’s hidden edge, brought in for cases that no one else can solve. When DNA links a murder victim to a serial killer long presumed dead, the team springs into action.

This one is a WINNER!!!!
Revisado: 01-31-25
Since I’m already a fan of John McMahon’s P.T. Marsh mystery/procedural novels I already had a feeling that I was going to enjoy this book. Add to that Will Damron’s narration and you have a sure winner! I’m a huge fan of Will Damron and wish he would do more in the mystery/thriller genre.
This book is a great cat and mouse procedural. The hero (Gardner Camden) is in an FBI unit made up of agents who have all made some kind of major f**k up in their careers but are otherwise exceptional at their job. His nemesis is playing games with him and feeding him puzzles only he can figure out. Being an expert at puzzles Camden feels it’s his responsibility and his sword to bear for every death. Even though the serial killer he’s hunting is killing other killers. And with each kill he leaves a new clue somewhere on or in the body. Some only centimeters, so nothing is obvious. The climax is just as good as the rest of the story and the ending is open for future books if this is to turn into a series. One can only hope!
This book has my VERY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!

James Grippando Jonathan Davis and Jack Swyteck 5*
Revisado: 01-15-25
I didn’t realize how much I missed Jack Swyteck until this book came out! As soon as I saw it yesterday on the new release list I bought it immediately and ended up staying up half the night listening to it. Needless to say I was slightly shot today but had to finish. I even listened on the default speed because I wanted it to last. I almost never listen in slo-mo but certain narrators are worth it and Jonathan Davis is one of them. I wish he would do more in the mystery/thriller genre and I really wish Grippando would be just a little more prolific. What’s that saying? If I could get a dollar for every wish I’d never have to work for a living? Sadly I do 😢 but I can still dream!!
This book is a superb legal thriller/court room drama. The premise of this story is that an Iranian woman marries her Iranian
brother-in-law after her sister is murdered by the morality police. She legally adopts her sister’s daughter and then kidnaps her and runs to Miami with the child. She claims it wasn’t the police but the husband who abused both her sister and child that murdered.her sister. There are multiple dramas happening in the background and Swyteck is of course a star lawyer with his wife Andi both fighting and pulling for him the entire time.
But as with ALL Swyteck books, nothing is as it seems. I’m sorry but if you want to find out how this funhouse will turn out you will have to get the book.
In my humble opinion it is worth every penny and then some!
This book has my VERY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!

If only such people existed!!!!
Revisado: 12-30-24
OMG!!!! This book is amazing. This is such a wonderful series, I can’t say enough about it. I really like Logan Ryles and all the series he writes but his Mason Sharpe series has them all beat by a mile. Not just his but many others on the market today, old and new. I won’t mention names because we all have our own opinions.
Sharpe’s fiancé was murdered prior to the first book. He left his job as a homicide detective and with his trusty truck he left his job, his friends and wandered. Sleeping in the back of his truck and working when he had to for the barest amount to survive. With him he carried a violin and his fiancé’s bible. One thing I like about this series is that although he carries her bible he never looks in or quotes from it. It’s there only as a symbol of her and what a good person she was.
Through his travels in every book Sharpe runs across someone innocent and in a desperate situation. In this way he reminds me very much of the old Reacher or the new Jack Widow.
This book is about a 10 year old girl in a wheelchair who is kidnapped by her father. He had been controlling and abusive and her parents divorced. After kidnapping her he takes her to New Orleans where another hurricane is happening and because the city is now prepared he and his backwoods friends decide to blow the levees to cause flooding so they could pull off a major robbery. With the girl as their hostage Sharpe has his work cut out for him and at times he has to decide between a city? a girl? or can he possibly save both?
This is book #6 in the Mason Sharpe series. If you don’t want to read them in order it’s really not necessary however I would suggest at least listening to book #1 first so that you have background for all the following books.
This book and the entire series are all VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
I had never heard of Andy Ingalls prior to listening to this series but he is the perfect narrator for the part. I will definitely be looking for books in the future that he performs.

Revisado: 12-06-24
I’m writing this review because of Empress Karen!! I do appreciate all that you’ve said about my reviews I just wish Audible treated reviewers a little better and quit taking down 5 star reviews or burying others.
Anyway, I’ve had this book in my wish list for over a year and kept going back to it and putting off purchasing it. Unsure of the author but love Alan Philip Ormond (the narrator) I finally gave in… I now seriously hope that this author will continue his writing career and make this book into a series or at least write another standalone.
Wow!!!! This story was wonderful! I was hooked from the beginning. The hero at the heart of the story is an investigative journalist. After getting arrested in one foreign country for being where he wasn’t supposed to be, he’s off to another country to go where he should not be going.
This time it’s to catch poachers in protected waters and reefs. Because he lost his wealthy backer he’s had to find a ship capable of carrying his crew, camera equipment, dive equipment and anything else needed for an in-depth expose. The trip could be dangerous because of the people he’s trying to catch on film. What he doesn’t realize is that it’s more dangerous than even he knows, the captain and ship he’s hired also work albeit under duress for a major heroine trafficker and the belly of the ship is transporting a multimillion dollar shipment.
Alan Philip Ormond once again does a SPECTACULAR job narrating!!
This book has my VERY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!!

This latest book and the conclusion to book 21 is really good. I am so impressed. This book crosses a few genres, mainly mystery/thriller and sci-fi.
The big question everyone has I’m sure after so many people were unhappy after the last book is…. Was it worth the wait? In my opinion it was but to each their own.
I’m not going to go into what this book was about. I’m very frustrated with the way the reviews are being handled these days and I’m not sure how many more I’m going to write if any, who knows. If it does get posted it will probably be on the last page.
Anyway, I really enjoyed the book and thought Jefferson Mays did a great job narrating
