Historia
In December 1975, the Lutz family moved into their new home on suburban Long Island. George and Kathleen Lutz knew that, one year earlier, Ronald DeFeo had murdered his parents, brothers, and sisters in the house, but the property - complete with boathouse and swimming pool - and the price were too good to pass up. This is the shocking true story of an American dream that turned into a nightmare beyond imagining for the Lutz family, who were forced to flee their new home in terror.

Cool story, decent narrator
Revisado: 05-19-21
Like most, I think this story is mostly exaggerated. But that doesn't matter to me, I went in thinking it was fiction and just planning on enjoying a spooky story. It was spooky and I enjoyed it. Not the best but decent.
The narrator is mostly monotone throughout the story. He sounds like he's got the skill to be much better but he was directed to be like Documentary narrators.

Great narrator!
Revisado: 05-18-21
If you want a review for the story, there are smarter people than me who can provide that for you. But as for the narrator, he did great! His voice for Hyde is perfect.

Historia
Narrator Dan Stevens ( Downton Abbey) presents an uncanny performance of Mary Shelley's timeless gothic novel, an epic battle between man and monster at its greatest literary pitch. In trying to create life, the young student Victor Frankenstein unleashes forces beyond his control, setting into motion a long and tragic chain of events that brings Victor to the very brink of madness. How he tries to destroy his creation, as it destroys everything Victor loves, is a powerful story of love, friendship, scientific hubris, and horror.

Not the best but I enjoyed myself anyway
Revisado: 05-14-21
Knowing the history of this book and it's age, I was really impressed. But, I think because of its age, it's really overwritten. long passages are dedicated to things that don't really matter to me. Mostly the sections on travel.
I did enjoy it despite that. The narrator did a great job.

Historia
Jack Torrance's new job at the Overlook Hotel is the perfect chance for a fresh start. As the off-season caretaker at the atmospheric old hotel, he'll have plenty of time to spend reconnecting with his family and working on his writing. But as the harsh winter weather sets in, the idyllic location feels ever more remote...and more sinister. And the only one to notice the strange and terrible forces gathering around the Overlook is Danny Torrance, a uniquely gifted five-year-old.

Great Story. Good Narration.
Revisado: 04-21-21
The narrator can be a bit too... flat at times. it fits the tone but sometimes the matter-of-faft emotionless voice is used to much. not gonna fault the narrator though, he could have been directed to do so. But he was still a good narrator and delivered a great story from King! I enjoyed this audio book a lot.

Historia
In the 20th century Earth sent probes, transmissions, and welcoming messages to the stars. Unfortunately, someone noticed. The Galactics arrived with their battle fleet in 2052. Rather than being exterminated under a barrage of hell-burners, Earth joined their vast Empire. Swearing allegiance to our distant alien overlords wasn't the only requirement for survival. We also had to have something of value to trade, something that neighboring planets would pay their hard-earned credits to buy. As most of the local worlds were too civilized to have a proper army, the only valuable service Earth could provide came in the form of soldiers....

Great twist on the Sci-Fi I've seen
Revisado: 11-10-20
To be honest I haven't read many sci-fi books but I've played loads of sci-fi games and seen movies of the like. In almost all of them humans are the underdogs. The puny monkey people who are weaker, dumber, and vastly less evolved than the rest of the alien races. However, this book has created a world where the human mercenaries are the strongest army in the galaxy. I loved that idea.
Also there's someone who reviewed this book with 1 star because it wasn't realistic enough. Look of what Science FICTION means before you throw your dumb opinions out into the world.

Sometimes the audio from the voice actors and the background effects didn't mix well and it was difficult to hear what was said. but for the most part it was fine.

Historia
WHACK! When a mystery man lands smack-dab on the front of their ship while flying through space, the Guardians of the Galaxy bring him aboard to take a closer look. Is he an angel? With that eye patch, could he be...a pirate? Turns out it's Thor, the God of Thunder, and he's just as confused by the Guardians as they are by him: a rabbit captaining a ship, and a talking tree he can understand? Alternating between their trip to Nidavellir and Rocket's journal entries, this is the perfect lead-up to Marvel Studios' Avengers: Endgame.

It was nice but not great
Revisado: 04-08-20
I liked the idea of this book and would have enjoyed reading it normally but listening to it wasn't so great. the narrator does a great Rocket voice but he does it throughout the whole thing. I know that we're hearing stories from Rocket's perspective in the journal entries but the entries are written with dialogue and stuff. so when every single character has Rocket's voice it gets confusing.

This audio book only has chapters 1-14. not at all worth $20. I love Ranger's Apprentice and i was extremely disapointed by audible stupid mistake and apparent uncaring about this.
