Historia
At the height of World War II, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, was home to 75,000 residents, consuming more electricity than New York City. But to most of the world, the town did not exist. Thousands of civilians - many of them young women from small towns across the South - were recruited to this secret city, enticed by solid wages and the promise of war-ending work. Kept very much in the dark, few would ever guess the true nature of the tasks they performed each day in the hulking factories in the middle of the Appalachian Mountains.

The cure for insomnia.
Revisado: 06-14-23
This was certainly not a book about the women as much as it was about the authors random musings revolving around the era of WW II.
The author seemed to struggle to stay focused on any one topic for very long and repeated ideas over and over.
This could have been a good short story without all of the repetition.

Good story but could use a better content editor.
Revisado: 08-31-22
I have listened to the entire series up to this point and I am continuously annoyed by the lack of attention to detail. Repeatedly, characters in and from foreign countries talk about distances in feet and miles instead of meters and kilometers.
The overuse of the term sub machine gun is getting old. It is an insult to the readers and lazy- just tell us what the weapon is.
Also, the term silencer is novice. They are suppressors and they do not make the shots silent. It is just lazy writing and research.
Beyond the technical details, the story is very good and the characters are realistic, relatable, and likable.

It’s ok if you’re desperate.
Revisado: 08-31-22
This is Definitely not in the same category as Flynn, Thor, or Greaney. I listened for about four hours and found myself getting less and less interested in the story. Some of it is written in first person while other parts are written in third person. While the story is acceptable, the characters are forgettable and unrealistic. The person reading it has a better voice for a wild life documentary than one for a thriller.
Even with getting it for free, I couldn’t get myself to finish it.

Great story but off on details
Revisado: 04-17-22
This is a fantastic story with nonstop action. Ben Coes needs a new content editor - so many errors with the guns and many other details.
It’s so close to being great.

Great story.
Revisado: 03-19-22
This was a great story with what felt like a mix of fiction and what could be a touch of reality.
I found myself wanting it to be longer with more details and the subplots filled in more. Still a fantastic listen and would recommend it 100%.

Historia
Gideon Clarke is a man on a quest. He is out to prove to the world, as his father tried before him, that the world-champion Chicago Cubs traveled to Onamata, Iowa, in the summer of 1908 for an exhibition game against all-stars from the Iowa Baseball Confederacy, an amateur league. The game, which was to be short, pleasant, and the Cubs thought, one-sided, turned into a titanic battle of over 2,000 innings, played mostly in the pouring rain. This game is not on the record books.

Audio levels were all over the place.
Revisado: 12-27-21
The story was decent but I had to shut it off because the audio levels were all over the place. Had turn up the volume for one character then turn it way down for another. The background action overpowers the voices. I’m a big Mark Greaney fan but this one was unlistenable.

Historia
Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately....

Untuck this recording quality
- De Martin J. Fogarty en 07-25-18
Good message but terrible quality recording.
Revisado: 03-10-21
The message was mostly good. I enjoyed the candor of the author.
The audio sounded like it was recorded on a 1990s speakerphone with many background noises distracting from the message.
The lack of care put into the recording makes me question the care of the author puts into her practice.

A toxic presidential election is underway in an America already badly weakened by internal divisions. While politicians focus entirely on maintaining their own power, ISIS kidnaps a brilliant French microbiologist and forces him to begin manufacturing anthrax. Slickly produced videos chronicling his progress and threatening an imminent attack are posted to the internet, intensifying the hysteria gripping the United States.

Mitch Rapp books are going downhill
Revisado: 01-16-20
This may be the last Mitch Rapp book that I buy. I have read every book in the series and have enjoyed most of them thoroughly but the last couple of books are just not living up to the quality I'm used to. The character development and use is faulty and the story is lacking much action.
