A biased approach to Lewis
Revisado: 01-24-24
The performance of this work was captivating. Personally I couldn't stop listening, until the modern biases were too much to my taste.
Some points for "Mere Christianity" argue that some viewpoints were archaic, and related to the century these were written in, and could clash with modern standards. That is true, for the most part, since these viewpoints do clash with modern standards, but are not related to the century these were written: They are related to the Bible itself, the source for Lewis' faith.
For a historical perspective, this is a good listen; however, for a critical analysis, be ready to have Lewis criticized by modern standards, and no the Scriptures to which Lewis, as a Christian himself, was supposed to conform to.

Historia
The Western church has gone feminist. God has given men authority in the home, church, and society. Yet the church has rebelled against God’s design and embraced the unbelieving world’s teaching that women should take on the same roles and duties as men rather than focus on the home and children. Christian scholarship and Bible commentaries are dominated by feminist arguments that both husband and wife should submit to each other (“mutual submission”).

This would be better to be read, instead of listened
Revisado: 12-01-23
I was unable to finish it. So far, the content was good, however, to follow it you must pause, takes notes, read the Bible, read again. Definitely would not recommend it as an audiobook.
Plus, the narrator's accents when reading quotes was really annoying and distracting.

Historia
We live in a time when marital fidelity is under assault. Driven by the forces of relativism, our society assaults sexual fidelity on numerous fronts. The push for homosexual marriages, for example, come at the end of the fall into perversion, not the beginning. Faithless husbands began the fall long ago, and our culture, with all its washed-out self-help books, fails to address the real problem - sin.

Precise, concise and practical. A great guide for any Christian man that did not have biblical advice on sexuality.

Historia
In the United States, teenagers can focus on one task for only sixty-five seconds at a time, and office workers average only three minutes. Like so many of us, Johann Hari was finding that constantly switching from device to device and tab to tab was a diminishing and depressing way to live. He tried all sorts of self-help solutions—even abandoning his phone for three months—but nothing seemed to work. So Hari went on an epic journey across the world to interview the leading experts on human attention—and he discovered that everything we think we know about this crisis is wrong.

I wish I read the reviews before buying
Revisado: 09-26-23
The book started great, and I could just not pay attention to the political ideas that were being dripped here and there.
However, at some point it just gets tedious and way too political for me to enjoy. If you are into personal responsibility and trying to improve your own circumstances, I'd suggest you avoid it and look somewhere else.
