Historia
Since the dawn of time, people have been fascinated by those who claim to have extraordinary psychic abilities. The fascination has reached a fever pitch with the rise of modern media. It is safe to say that many of these folks are either extraordinary frauds or extraordinarily deluded. But could some of them be legitimate? Do some people actually possess psychic gifts that can be used to help and heal?

Historia
This is the story of becoming, the process of actualization that we all go through, especially when we are most unaware that it's happening. Written with striking familiarity and uncanny understanding, this audiobook will open your heart and touch your soul by putting into words the things that are both deeply rooted and hidden in us that we miss them even when they are most transparent.

One of the best books I’ve read
Revisado: 12-10-20
I say this with one caveat, you have to be ready for this book. Brianna Wiest is a modern version of the ancient stoics, a deep thinker who is wise beyond her years, and I would not have been able to appreciate her work without having done loads of self-improvement before. Like exploring the depths of the ocean, you need to prepare before you can spend time in the waters of her words. If you are already a fan of her other work, you will love The Human Element.

Historia
Once described by The Washington Post as "the most interesting mayor you've never heard of", Pete Buttigieg, the 36-year-old Democratic mayor of South Bend, Indiana, has improbably emerged as one of the nation's most visionary politicians. First elected in 2011, Buttigieg left a successful business career to move back to his hometown, previously tagged by Newsweek as a "dying city", and transformed it into a shining model of urban reinvention.

You’ll feel like you know him
Revisado: 04-04-19
As an avid memoir reader, I know an authentic one vs a contrived one. Though intentional, this book is brazenly honest and reads with the unabashed humanity often missing in political discourse in this era. I am thankful to hear from a fellow “elder millennial” and looking forward to seeing where this presidential run will take him. As someone who is blue no matter who and acknowledges the amazing women candidates, I believe Mayor Pete is the right person for the job of president, as someone who could truly propel our nation forward.

Historia
From the New York Times best-selling author of The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F*ck and Get Your Sh*t Together comes more straight talk about how to stand up for who you are and what you really want, need, and deserve - showing when it's okay to be selfish, why it's pointless to be perfect, and how to be "difficult". Being yourself should be easy, yet too many of us struggle to live on other people's terms instead of our own. Rather than feeling large and in charge, we feel little and belittled.

Historia
How much love do you have for yourself? Not the narcissistic "aren't I wonderful?" kind of love but the essential regard for self that empowers you and helps you navigate through life. The type of love that enables you to feel safe and secure in who you are and inspires you to make choices that are good for your authentic self. When scientist David Hamilton realized that his own lack of self-love was sabotaging him in hundreds of subtle ways and more than a handful of major ways, he devised an experiment using himself as the guinea pig.

Pretty much the only self improvement/personal growth book you’ll need
Revisado: 10-07-18
I downloaded this book shortly after I discovered the root of all self-help is self-love and self acceptance. While I am grateful for other books I have read in the personal development genre, it really all boils down to the principles in this book. I found it at just the right time and would encourage anyone remotely interested to just go ahead and get the book. Worst thing that happens don’t love it, best thing that happens is it changes your life.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Worth reading - be prepared for lots of cursing
Revisado: 09-05-18
I get it. It’s written by a guy whose whole shtick is “not giving a f*ck.” I thought I knew what to expect but even I was taken aback by the sheer amount of f-bombs in the beginning of the book. I can see how it would turn some people off, but I don’t want that to happen! Once the book gets going, the cursing levels off (or I stopped hearing it?), and overall this is a great read. He brings up excellent points about life, love, values and even death. I know not every book is for every person, but if you’re even a little curious, I’d say it’s worth checking out. Worst thing that can happen is you don’t gain anything from it, and if that happens, you can rant about it in the reviews section!
