Nope
Revisado: 03-24-24
Made it two hours in then it turned to straight up trash. Sorry, I don’t want to listen to the deep perversions of a woman with super smutty verbiage.

Guess what the buzzword is….
Revisado: 03-24-23
Fantastic. Woke baloney wrapped into a terrible story that hopes to disguise its’ writer’s poor skills. Performance was decent with the crud material they were handed.

Still don’t get the hype
Revisado: 06-09-22
This is book 3 of 4 and I sincerely don’t understand the hype yet. I’m only listening still as a curiosity. I’m waiting to see if the final book comes together with one huge climax.

Historia
Children have always disappeared under the right conditions - slipping through the shadows under a bed or at the back of a wardrobe, tumbling down rabbit holes and into old wells, and emerging somewhere...else. But magical lands have little need for used-up miracle children. Nancy tumbled once, but now she's back. The things she's experienced...they change a person. The children under Miss West's care understand all too well. And each of them is seeking a way back to their own fantasy world.

What a fun story
Revisado: 01-26-22
You try the whole time to understand what’s going on until it will suddenly hit you like a ton of bricks. I wish I had read it myself though. I think I would’ve been more invested. I can definitely see how this could be an emotional tale for some who feel out of place here, or even one for those of us who dream.

Historia
It began with a simple note: a letter of rejection delivered to Miss Temple on her maid's silver tray. But for Miss Temple, her fiance's cruel rejection will ignite a harrowing quest for truth, plunging her into a mystery as dizzying as a hall of mirrors. Thus begins Gordon Dahlquist's spectacular literary debut, a novel of Victorian suspense that shatters conventions and seethes with danger and eroticism.

Alfred Molina is a WONDERFUL narrator
Revisado: 01-26-22
No matter how beautiful the prose or deep the use of vocabulary and imagery, unnecessary extras are always unnecessary. This book takes pains to over express scenes and sometimes you wonder why it’s taking so long for a character to make it down a hallway BUT Alfred Molinas voice performance truly keeps you listening on. The premise is really neat…. Once you get to it, that is. This is a book for a lazy Saturday where it’s more important to listen to something soothing then to just get to the point.
