this series just won my heart 100x over. the first series about Tegan is fine, but I lovezd Bettina's story so much more. It was fast paced, and Bettina isn't that self-sacrificing type Tegan was. she's more of a kick butt, take names, let's figure this out.

Bettina and Jackson's love story is delicious and so worth the wait which was far better than the insta,- love we saw with Tegan and Tennessee.

Jackson is your kick butt, tortured supernatural hero who is also a hopeless romantic deep down.

This series will pull all your heart strings till they tear and sew them back up again at the end.

if you do miss the cast from past books, fear not, the coven is all here, and we get more about a certain coven leader's decidedly mysterious past.

At the end of the day, this series is about finding the love of a l lifetime, found-family, and choosing family.

Coven Academy can be read as a stand alone, but if you plan to read Tegan's story read it first because there are a TON of spoilers from the aether witch series in books 1 & 2 here.

Fiorina writes stories in a poetical format. I don't generally read contemporary romance, it's too real for me. there is already enough real in the world. But, I decided to give this one a try, for whatever reason, and I'm glad I did. Ollie is just precious cupcake that needs to be protected at all costs.

The cast is diverse and screwed up in all different ways. Mia who feels nothing, Ollie who feels too much too intensely, malicious Maddie, quiet zeke, Jake who's only "wrong" was being gay. It's quite a ride. No one in this series is all good or all bad. They've all been crapped on by life and it's going to take some healing.

I like the way the book portrayed therapists. Showing a positive relationship with a therapist...with therapy is such a refreshing scenario. Usually books do the "blah blah, I'm to good for therapy; I'm smarter than therapy, all I have to do is lie." This book was not that, at least not always. of course, there are still all the numerous ways adults let these kids down, but like I said, the characters here are definitely not black and white.

one star off for how boring the sex scenes got. Honestly, they were whole chapters and multiple chapters at that. about 3/4th way through, I just started skipping them all because it was the same thing over and over.

Book ends on a gut wrenching note and definitely make me want to jump right into book 2.

The narrator really knocked it out of the park with this one! I didn't cry when I read the book... but I definitely did when I listen to it. if you have not read the first two in the series, I highly encourage that you do or you'll be pretty lost. you will get plenty of aldrick vhalla and some other unique characters you will grow to love. Though my heart will probably never mend from the death and book two, but a certain Earth mage definitely became a quick favorite for me in this book.

if you know anything about me, then you'll know that the air awaken series is one of my favorite of all time. when I heard it was getting a revamp and you narrator I jumped at the chance to listen to it. Caitlin Kelly really does the series Justice. she is The voice that I didn't know I needed to narrate Vhalla. for those that had issues with the prior audiobook and some of the mistakes in it, rest assured that this upgrade is flawless.

this was such a stupendous sequel. Every minute is filled with heart pounding action. Gage is left to fight his own demons that no one else can truly help him with. Tatum must get ready for her angelic given mission and also find a way to save her mom. Good thing her friends have her back. Many secrets are revealed, and an entirely new problem that shakes Tatem's world appears. The book ends on somewhat of a cliff hanger. Sooo ready for book 3! the Narrator Vanessa moyen really gives Tatem and her friends a unique voice. highly recommend this series!

The narrator himself isnt terrible by any means, but he just isn't able to do this particular story justice. I was unable to differentiate between different POVs, as all his characters sound the same. It was an interesting choice on the authors part to choose a male narrator for a book that has a female main character. Especially more so as there were multiple viewpoints and the voice never changes from that of a deep male voice. It t was off-putting and I couldn't get past that. if I go back to this book, it'll be via ebook.

I loved the premise of the story. a love story that must face multiple obstacles and a heroine who is far more than she is allowed to be. I liked Naia's characterization. and I enjoyed the author's world building. sign me up for any story that has Fae & dragons. seriously.
so the narration... I have been urged to listen to the sample before buying this book and I did. from the sample the narrator had a decent voice, so I decided to give the audiobook a try. unfortunately the deeper you get into the story, the more bothered I started getting by the lack of feeling narrator put behind any of the characters. it was extremely monotone during the romance, anger, frustration - and it just really threw off the whole feeling of the book. I ended up giving up on the narration halfway and just getting the e- book.

this may not be a problem for other people, but the narration also isn't recorded professionally. you can hear a lot of noise that distracts from the story.

all that being said I would strongly encourage you give this book a try and listen to the narration first. my advice would be to understand that that narration will continue the entire time without any inflections. and if it's not for you I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE you to pick up the ebook, because the story itself was fun and deserves to be heard. I'll definitely be continuing to book two.

Intersting premise and mystery, if not slightly confused about the romance, but I loved it enough to see where it goes and I love seeing how the hate-to-love romance will develop. I couldn't really figure out what exactly she liked about the male lead, butttt, that also has been dying for some backgroynd dets I'm hoping for in book of 2. Overall it was a pretty fun read and I feel what's coming in future books is going to be epic after the setup. The mystery entertaining, and I figured it out early ish on, but that didn't stop me from thoroughly enjoying the book. Oh, also there is an amazing plot twist or two at the end. It has me reaching for book 2 of the Tracker's Secret!

This is book two of Tori's journey and it is literally unput-downable.
Still, it's 1:30 am and I'm about to start book 3. Yes I have work tomorrow. No I'm not going to enjoy it.that a twist was coming. No regrets at all. Yes I have work tomorrow. No I'm not going to enjoy it.
The writing is honestly phenomenal. I love the humor, I love the friendships, I love the situations Tori gets into. It can be frustrating that she continues to hide her secret, but it also keeps me on the edge of my seat asking "now?" Now!?!?" "WHEN DOES THE SECRET COME OUT!?!?"
All I can is I am so ready for book 3!

The Mesmerist is a unique stand alone fantasy about a young girl who finds herself in a precarious predicament. To her surprise, Adriajana is but one of three mesmers left, she can manipulate those around her without lifting a finger. She has no choice but to serve the crown alongside the Prime Mesmer (a cranky, secretive man) and the enigmatic, handsome, Para Mesmer, Dragen.

As murders of the royal family take center stage, Adriajana must navigate romance, her growing powers, court secrets and a tremendous betrayal.

I really did enjoy this book. The ending was definitely a twist I was desperately hoping would go another way, and I desperately want a redemption arc for a certain character, despite knowing it's impossible. That person's story just doesn't feel finished yet.

One star off for the rushed ending. the perp's ending, reasoning...everything just didn't feel fleshed out enough. Maybe we weren't truly supposed to understand them, but it just didn't feel finished without a goating scene and a reveal or true intentions/feelings/whatever. We never truly can tell if the perp was truly at fault or be too was a victim of a far larger...entity (for lack of other words to keep it spoiler free.)

The first 3/4ths of the book was wonderfully fleshed out, and trust me when I say I couldn't put it down. Learning about Mesmer Powers was incredibly fascinating. I do wish a little more time was spent getting to know Nevena, Simeon, and Georgi. Though, this being a stand-alone, this gets a pass. There is only so much you can fit into one book and I get that.

A note on the romance - There is a romance, but it's merely a plot point foe character growth. It's a good romance in many ways that teaches Adriajana a couple lessons, but also...not a romance book. I'll leave it at that for you curious minds.

Despite knowing this is a stand-alone, I can't help but desperately hope that Luana changes her mind and we get more of the Mesmer world. The ending was left just open enough to allow further exploration into the characters and story.
