Story good don’t like so many timelines

Slow to begin but great to listen to once the story finally gets going.

Honestly I fell asleep when first starting to listen to this story. I had to restart a couple of times. Once the story finally became understood, I enjoyed listening.

Disappointed just skip this one and go to 19!

This must have been one of those books written at some point earlier in the series that didn’t meet the muster and was shelved. Only to be revived again to meet a deadline? It was dragging and the characters were at a stage earlier in their lives than the series left off at 17. My thought was that originally 17 was meant to be the last one but because the books became popular again was revived to give time for 19 to be completed. I read series books in order for a reason. Personally it was insulting to me reading this book. As in love with this series as I am, I was so disappointed. I’m back reading 19 now which picks up where 17 left off. Do yourself a favor and skip 18.

OMG! I couldn’t stop listening!

This is my first listen to Sandra Brown and I was blown away! I loved the story, suspense, character interaction....everything! She had me from the first word until the very last. I ignored my husband, house and did nothing until I could find out how it ended. I was not let down! I’ve already ordered another Sandra Brown. If you like suspense, questioning a relationship, crooked people, and heroes, then you will love this book.

What did you love best about The Ultimatum?

Great storyline. Can't wait for next installment.

What other book might you compare The Ultimatum to and why?

Can't remember the title right off but it did have similarities to a previous book or movie.

Have you listened to any of Julia Whelan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Loved the performance! I hope she continues doing audibles!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved the story unfolding with Mickey and Beth. It will be interesting as more of her past comes to light.

Any additional comments?

Beginning was very slow and overly wordy to the point of boring. Too much description of everything around them that had nothing to do with the story. I was wondering if there was some kind of filler with just words to add to the length. I almost fell asleep but once the story got going, I was awake!
