Heinlein wrote this time twister in 1957, imagining the world of 1970. The themes of engineers versus wheeler-dealers are universal and the story is short enough to be a good investment of your time.

No Apologies Hero Worship

Would you consider the audio edition of Killing Lincoln to be better than the print version?

Bill O'Reilly's voice adds a dimension of hero worship to a text that gives irony and texture to the deep emotions that ran through Washington in 1865. I find it easy to relate to the history when Bill O'Reilly shows his take on the conspirators, the southern sympathizers, and the generals on both sides. I'll bet that Martin Dugard did great research, but I think Bill O'Reilly's narration adds greatly to the storytelling.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Abe Lincoln is, of course, the hero of any story of his hopes and dreams for welcoming the South back in to the union without acrimony.

This is the first Bill O'Reilly book I have listened to.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I found myself anxious to get back into the car so that I could hear the next snippet of the book on my commute to and from work.
