wonderful story of her journey as a musician and a black women in the south. I heard her several years ago in chapel hill. and she is a formidable historian making music with original source material. I'd love to see her collaborate with Henry Louis Gates.

This was the positivity that I was seeking. Assured me that all is possible. Listened as part of the podcast- Big, Strong,Yes. with Lani Diane Rich at Chipperish Media. I recommend the book and the podcast.

My favorite book series of all time. It is my go to when I can't find anything else to read, my comfort read. My husband got into the tv series but isn't a reader. We listen on road trips so he can be a part of Outlander world.

Great YA with it all-romance,mystery,action

I love this whole series. My first dip into YA fiction. Boarding school narrative with a twist- these girls are training to be spies. The townies think this is an exclusive school for spoiled rich girls. Our lead character acts on a crush on a townie and her suitemates help her. These girls have rigorous classes and exciting training exercises. Great book for middle schoolers and older.

Some great anecdotes, but with an awkward flow

One persons story of how she rose from a volunteer to a major player in the White House. The anecdotes brought me to tears more than once, but the transitions were so disjointed that I had to listen several times just to understand how the story went from one place to the next. Story might start out chronologicaly then switch to stories with the same characters. There were pictures that were important that were excluded in an audible version.

Story grabs you,just too short

This book is the 1st in a series of three. The fantasy series is great story telling. Don't think of them as novels, but short stories that have the same lead character. I did not want this one to end. I wanted more of this family!!

Interesting take on unrequited love

A wedding turned road trip story with a twist. Family secrets abound. It is told from a half sibling point of view. The road trip is layered over a long lost love story.

Classic David Sedaris

These are short stories read by David Sedaris. If you don't like his humor or voice you will not like this book,however I love both. My favorite stories dealt with his plan for how to quit smoking. (go to Japan for 3 months) I didn't realize that Japanese appliances could talk.

Good story, great narrator, poor ending

The story was engaging and clever. The narration was beautifully preformed. The narrator's accent was very easy on the ears. The cliffhanger ending was a disappointment and did not match the rest of the story. #audible 20 review sweepstakes entry
