Really great Listen; typical excellent Koontz
Revisado: 02-21-24
The story, as always, no matter how impossible, feels grounded and nothing less than a very real story. Koontz always makes everything feel real. Being able to listen to one of his stories is wonderful because it fills time when driving, doing mundane chores/work and before falling asleep. Audible means not having to find time to read pages and not having to wait to get back to a Koontz yarn is a very fine thing indeed!

Historia
Lacy Marie Crocker can hardly believe it's been a year since her return home to New Orleans. There hasn't been a dull moment since opening her pet boutique last summer, and thanks to the popularity of Lacy's organic pet treats and the arrival of the National Pet Pageant, Lacy desperately needs some help before she is overrun by the demand for pupcakes and crinolines. Everything is going spectacularly until Viktor Petrov, the pageant emcee, takes a spill from the balcony during dress rehearsal.

Great Series & Love the Author
Revisado: 06-17-23
Great series. I wish the author had more in the series. Easy listen for any occasion. Enjoy the detail. Does not have to be read/heard in order to follow the plot but the best experience comes from doing it in order.

Wonderful & intricate storyline
Revisado: 11-24-22
I enjoyed the characters and the reading. Even if you expect a certain ending, you'll never guess it in any of the ten books. It was a huge value and worth the purchase credit. The characters were real and familiar, in as much as the age groups were no different that what we see in real life.
If this type of book is your cup of tea, then by all means purchase it NOW!
And if it's not, then you don't know what you're missing... which is a wonderful lesson in a read on how to develop believable, memorable characters in a seamless storyline with a definite beginning, middle and end.

Historia
One gun + two turkeys + three Morgan sisters = One helluva Jeep ride! It's Thanksgiving Day in Jackrabbit Junction and the feathers are flying before the food even hits the table. What starts out as a quick trip to pick up a turkey turns into another messy Morgan sisters mystery filled with hijinks and adventure. Never has Thanksgiving been so wild!

Expensive @ 1 Credit, but still worth it!!!!
Revisado: 07-28-22
The Free "Deadwood" Series hooked me on Ann Charles. Lisa Larsen's voice became a fixture in my daily life. There's no way I couldn't check out the Jackrabbit Junction Series. By the thing I reached this very short holiday extra, that I thought should be Free because of its brevity, I purchased it anyway, knowing that I simply could NOT miss a single moment of life in Jackrabbit Junction, Arizona!
Not only did Ann Charles NOT disappoint, she made me laugh and snort more than every other book combined thus far! Without the heavy cloud of long-range plot planning, Charles simply lets her hair down and cuts loose with every bit of the same characteristic fun and humorous angst of miscommunication and relationships that is true to form for every character in what can only be reminiscient of perhaps a Chevy Chase "National Lampoon's Vacation", circa 1983... except Jackrabbit Junction is no rip-off of anything else, but rather its own unique story that has one laughing, snorting, snickering and cringing at the antics and actions of its residents and The Infamous Morgan Sisters.
Although you COULD skip this intermediary short story, I do NOT recommend doing so!
This part of the saga is a pertinent part of the saga that is too funny, and in my opinion too important, to not listen to or read. Yes, you'll soldier on through the next book, thanks to Charles' patented interwoven reviews of past events (which are neither boring nor distracting) by the characters (just as you and I might recap events in our minds), BUT if you skip this book, then you'll miss some of the most hilarious events, which all contribute to the development of both the characters sans the storyline itself.

Outstanding, Fun Series
Revisado: 05-02-22
Great series of mystery horror set in South Dakota. These are best read in order, although each book stands alone due to the recap at the beginning of each book, however, once you start reading or listening, you'll want to follow things in order as these books encompass a matter of weeks and are essentially a massive novel broken into a series of events with each event/mystery told within one book.

Keeps you misdirected & guessing
Revisado: 03-03-22
A pretty decent book, although it's no Sanford, Koontz or King in tone, diction or direction. However, there's no reason to downgrade it from a 5-star book because I listened to the entirety of it and was left looking in the wrong direction due to the masterful word flow by the author. Also, I would read another of his books if they're Free to subscribers.
