Historia
The Courage to Be Disliked, already an enormous best seller in Asia with more than 3.5 million copies sold, demonstrates how to unlock the power within yourself to be the person you truly want to be. Using the theories of Alfred Adler, one of the three giants of 20th-century psychology, The Courage to Be Disliked follows an illuminating conversation between a philosopher and a young man. The philosopher explains to his pupil how each of us is able to determine our own life, free from the shackles of past experiences, doubts, and the expectations of others.

I really enjoyed the dialectic nature of yhe discussion
Revisado: 02-15-25
I really enjoyed the dialectic nature of yhe discussion. I coul relate to the young man on many levels and found good examples in how to talk to younger adults in the way the philosopher patiently exposed strong negative assumptions and emotions without belittling or using sarcasm.

Arthur lives with his father, a fallen but proud former noble, in Border Village #49, along with the other good folks condemned to toil in service to the Baron. But Arthur has an edge: a stolen heart card that secretly fell into his possession, thanks to a dragon. It’s a priceless source of power for the Baron and the tyrant will kill to get it back. Invaluable, too, to a young man of spellcasting ambitions.

These kinds of ideas keep this genre fresh. the beginning is a little rushed but its hard go complain considering it is just skipping nothingness.

Solid choice for a long read
Revisado: 06-17-22
i was initially suspicious as most stories with a synopsis about ressurection and the like make the main protag a bit over the top OP. This one on the other hand is not remotely similar. It is long but jam packed with fun, intense, and irritating moments. irritating in the best way.
there are moments that feel like they build up to a catastrophe but end ip being plain, but besifrs that a very good choice.
100% worth a credit. or even 2

Due to unusual circumstances, Randidly starts in an isolated dungeon far beyond his level, forced to rely on the mysterious Traveler Shal in order to learn and survive with the dangerous new status quo for his world. But survive he does, only to leave the dungeon and discover that while he experienced several hellish months in the dungeon, only half a day passed on Earth. Randidly's capabilities are now more than enough to help build a small enclave of survivors, but that doesn't mean balancing his sense of responsibility against the plots of an unfriendly town will be easy.

An exception in my hatred for apocalypse Litrpgs
Revisado: 01-04-22
Engaging, intense, and interesting. The story is solid and it starts by hooking you in very effectively. MC's progression it interesting as well the path system. Small spoilers at the bottom
My only actual issue with the book as a whole is the amount of times, sometimes in a row, character sheets come up. and fun fact about this book, the character sheets are about 10 times as long when including skills. Especially when the MC just described what changed on his character sheet. Its easy to ignore a character sheet in a kindle book but is bothersome in an audiobook.
MacLeod Andrews is as solid a voice actor as Travis Baldree, Luke Daniels, or Jeff Hayes. A very good choice of narrator.
SMALL SPOILERS
I like the main character a lot. and i personally have a sneaking suspicion he is on the spectrum. Not as an insult to his intelligence in any way, just based on his social skills, inability to portray facial expressions, and other small things. If I am right than I would love the character all the more. Having a character with high functioning autism would be awesome if portrayed correctly.

Simply worth the money
Revisado: 03-01-21
Incredibly enjoyable. I went into the series in the wrong order on purpose, starting with this one. Its been 3 days since I finished it and I've already read the whole series of mythian. Its interesting to see how he breaks the game of mythian while still having conflict. It extentuates the flaws of the developers in a way that shows that they were high af when they made it. This series as a whole is far too enjoyable to be as unpopular as it is! Just read it!

This series had no right to do what it does.
Revisado: 03-01-21
What it does, is be fucking masterful. Interesting but flawed characters, great story, twists that you expect and dont expect. The stats make sense. It's just all amazing. How I had to look up this series for myself instead of it being the first LITrpg I ever listened to is beyond me.

A surprisingly enjoyable experience!
Revisado: 02-12-21
I bought this book because I was bored. I didn't enter with high expectations, but from start to finish (minus very minor writing issues Ill speak aboot later) it was of excellent quality! The author does one of the best jobs I've seen when making the reader feel the deep emotions of the character.
The narrator was also surprisingly good. he has minor issues, but no one is perfect. and everything i had any issue with he makes up for tenfold with expressive narration. reminded me of some of my favorite narrators!
So here is the part where I had a small issue with his writing. minor spoilers incoming. nothing major. So at a certain point in the book there is a small fustercluck of the word "roach". and by small I mean i heard the word 45 times in 3 minutes. Its a simple issue to fix, just add pronouns or descriptions like "the pincered insect". Its just that hearing that same word over and over completely disconnected me from everything the author attempted to portray.
This only happens once and is the only negative thing I can think of about the whole book, so dont you DARE hesitate to get this if you like LITrpgs.

In Being Mortal, best-selling author Atul Gawande tackles the hardest challenge of his profession: how medicine can not only improve life but also the process of its ending. Medicine has triumphed in modern times, transforming birth, injury, and infectious disease from harrowing to manageable. But in the inevitable condition of aging and death, the goals of medicine seem too frequently to run counter to the interest of the human spirit.

I'm glad I found this book
Revisado: 03-28-20
my mother died the week before I read this book. It helped me to know that we had done most of the right things. We had talked about the hard questions, and even though she was difficult to talk to, she had made known her final wishes. so when the doctors asked us whether we should use Extreme Measures we knew but the answer was no. She died peacefully, and after having finished this book, I am at peace with the decision we made to let her go.
