Historia
The Electrical Menagerie, a one-of-a-kind robotic roadshow, is bankrupt.... To save their show, Carthage and Huxley risk everything in a royal talent competition, vying for the once-in-a-lifetime chance to perform for the future celestial queen. Behind the glittery haze of flash paper and mirrors, every competitor has something to hide...and it's the lies Carthage and Huxley tell each other that may cost them everything.

Spectacular
Revisado: 04-22-19
From start to finish, I thoroughly enjoyed The Electrical Menagerie. It reminded me of the "The Night Circus" with less of the dark undertones that other, equally excellent book had. The characters, plot, and story are superb. I recommend plunking down your credit and getting started, rather than reading my minor quibbles with the book...
If I had any complaints, it might be some aspects of the world-building. It could be me missing something, but I didn't realize until the end of the book that the trains could fly. Overall I wanted a little more detail about the way the Celestial Isles world works, since the structure seems to be quite unusual (floating islands over an ether sea?). But that's a relatively minor complaint and one which could easily be fixed by the sequel, which can't come fast enough as far as I'm concerned.
The writing also lapses into "telling" language occasionally. There's a few events that feel brushed over where I really wanted a little more detail about what was happening, or had just happened. Again, minor complaint.
The narrator took a little getting used to, but it didn't take long for his narration style to grow on me. I mostly listened at 1.15 speed. 1.20 (my usual preference) felt a little fast.
I received a copy of The Electrical Menagerie in exchange for an honest review, which you've just finished reading, probably while listening to the sample of the audiobook. Go ahead and take the plunge, I'm confident you won't regret it.

Historia
All Systems Red is the tense first science fiction adventure novella in Martha Wells' series The Murderbot Diaries. For fans of Westworld, Ex Machina, Ann Leckie's Imperial Raadch series, or Iain M. Banks' Culture novels. The main character is a deadly security droid that has bucked its restrictive programming and is balanced between contemplative self-discovery and an idle instinct to kill all humans.

Quick, fun listen
Revisado: 08-06-18
Great story. Despite being a self-proclaimed "Murderbot" the central character was compelling and relatable. The ending didn't completely vibe with me for some reason, but overall I enjoyed the story and would say listen anyway and form your own opinion.

Historia
Nothing ever changes in Sanders. The town's still got a video store, for God's sake. So why doesn't Eli Teague want to leave? Not that he'd ever admit it, but maybe he's been waiting - waiting for the traveler to come back. The one who's roared into his life twice before, pausing just long enough to drop tantalizing clues before disappearing in a cloud of gunfire and a squeal of tires. The one who's a walking anachronism, with her tricorne hat, flintlock rifle, and steampunked Model A Ford.

Time Travel Road Trip
Revisado: 11-01-17
A fun time travel adventure. I went into it with no idea what it was about beyond that. I've been a Peter Clines fan for a few years now, so I figured it would be worth checking out, and I wasn't disappointed. It was much stranger than I expected, but plenty of fun. Ray Porter as always did a great job as narrator.

Historia
The end of the world has come not with a bang or a whimper, but with the guttural snarl of walking corpses hungry for human flesh. The "lucky" survivors flee an unstoppable virus spreading death and societal collapse across the globe. As the rules of civilization crumble, a lawyer, a pilot, and a nurse become comrades-in-arms in the fight against extinction. But not every enemy wears a rotting face, and anyone who doesn’t have your back just might have your head. Humankind’s twilight is at hand, and these are indeed... dark days.

Not as solid as the first
Revisado: 05-22-15
The writing felt rushed and sloppy, and there were some inconsistencies. Guessing the writer was rushed to crank out a sequel. Hopefully the third book is better.
