An Adventure and a Profound Experience

Listening to this first book (and the others in the series), has been one of the most profound experiences of my life. I am in awe of the truth contained herein, and the loving and sometimes humorous way in which it is provided. It shines with a compassionate understanding of who we are as humans, and gently reveals what we need to know to meet our future fully, and in our own Truth.

Paul Selig's generous and beautiful reading of all of these amazing books is so engaging, so present and pertinent to our now moment, that I find myself listening long into the night, suspended in time and space. Much of the work was channelled in a class setting, and I am frequently amazed to discover the feeling that I have been one of many attending a class. It's such an odd sensation to end a listening session, only to realize I am physically alone.

But the true gift of this book is what it offers humanity. As a species, we are at a moment in time when we feel an unease and innate sense of our Earth's calamitous future, and this fills us with uncertainty, and leaves us with many more questions than answers. This book will begin the adventure of finding those answers, by challenging you to reconnect to your true self, where all the answers you will ever need, are waiting.

The best part is what you don't hear . . .

Because you're sleeping!

As a long time insomniac, I listen to a lot of nature sleep sounds. My long time fav, "rain," now causes my brain waves to over-respond, and I wake with a migraine. Who knew.

This one? Knocks me out, every night, no side effects. I've never heard more than 20 minutes of it.

Perfect.

I just finished series straight thru to this book and it was brilliant!

It is a great series w a fantastic narrator — absolute bliss!

I love how the way the characters grow over the books, and I love Declan. Oh to be an earth witch!

Thank you, John Conroe, for everything — the world you created, the creative way you drew from the real world, and the fantasy that, with heroes, it can be fixed.

Early Breene series.

This is the first book in a series published in 2015, and when compared with K. F. Breene's more recent books -- which are amazing -- this one is just a little rough around the edges. When I listened to it several years ago, I only got a few chapters in due to the narration and the FMC. I thought she was immature, naive, and unnecessarily confrontational with super beings that could squash her like a bug; all of which are a major interest killer for me.

Then I found this book in my library after I had already listened to Breene's other series (twice!), and wanted to see what else I had. This time around, and after realizing how talented K. F. Breene is, I took another crack at Into Darkness.

It was really great to see how much the author has grown by comparison. K. F. Breene is now one of my top 10 favorite PN authors of all time, and an automatic buy for me, so it was fun to see how she began and how far she has come.

But there is one odd thing about this particular book that has inspired this review: The narrator in the version I purchased some time ago was Devra Woodward, but this series is now shown to be narrated by Victoria Mei. (Was the book rerecorded by Hazy Dawn? Or did Devra Woodward change her name?)

I love a mystery, so whatever happened, I'm going to purchase book two to see if I like the new narrator better, If so, I may have a chance to listen to yet another, possibly new and improved, K. F. Breene series!

What I do HIGHLY RECOMMEND? K. F. Breene's newer series are fantastic and not to be missed for PN fans. I'll let you know about this one.

I loved this first book!

I've listened to this series a first time without ever having had the first book. It really was a great story and it sets the stage for everything that happens in the following books.

I'm actually enjoying the whole series -- particularly the later books that I never listened to before! So much so, that I've purchased the later books as well. Such a fun series and very entertaining. Much better than I thought previous to reading book one, and it makes so much more sense to me now.

Love Kresley Cole's Arcana series as well, and I plan to go back and re-listen to that series again too.

I HIGHLY recommend both series!

K. F. Breene's entire series has provided me with a lot of entertainment and giggles -- something I'm sorely in need of right now. I highly recommend it to any fan of paranormal romance.

(For those complaining about the sex scenes -- this is a paranormal ROMANCE. I recommend they try another paranormal genre, one that doesn't have romance in the title!)

Can't wait for the next book. I mean that literally. K. F. Breene is prolific and publishes often, and yet, I STILL can't get enough of her books.

More please!

A Perfect Reading of a Perfect Book

Fantastic new direction for the series!

Wow! Still by far my favorite SciFi series, and this new direction provides all the action and science thrills I've come to expect from my favorite SciFi author! And frankly, I'm amazed!

While the first 2 Universe books were highly entertaining, they were their own stories, connected to the Koban series, but with a more intimate view of a few characters and their adventures.

With this 3rd novel in the Universe series, Steve has given us a surprise gift: The first novel set in the future of the Kobani experience, with new tech, new aliens, new conflicts and new opportunities for the Kobani to grow toward becoming an elevated species!

Wow! I did not expect that twist, and it left me wanting more -- which, let's face it, is always how I feel after I finish every one of the Kobani books.

Thank you, Steve! I'll be patiently watching for the next book in this new series, and it's so great to know that the Kobani story will go on!
