A Psychic? Really? On a true crime podcast?

The use of a psychic in this episode really weakened my opinion of these podcasters. I'll continue listening but I'm disappointed by this.

3 Stars for Pity's Sake

This is one of the few books that I haven't bothered to finish. I do feel awful for the family that it is still unresolved but I just can't deal with all of the psychic visits. If I were in the authors shoes, I would probably do the same thing. (Looking for answers from the 'astral plane') but this book is basically just the psychic's 'automatic writing' transcripts that are written so poorly that it's still annoying at 2.5 speed. If you're looking for something written by someone who's had a family member murdered, I would recommend you check out something like 'The Red Parts" by Maggie Nelson.

Wasted Credit- if you read a lot of anthologies

Most of the stories in this anthology were pretty good. One thing to note, however- many of these shorts were already published elsewhere. If you're looking for short stories by your favorite authors, please make sure that you haven't read it elsewhere. I am a lover of anthologies and found some of these were repeats for me. Luckily, I didn't spend a credit on this- I'd be pretty annoyed if I had!

I love this guy! (But don't start with this book)

Not for a first time David Sedaris reader! If you haven't "met" him yet; start with one of his essay collections. My first intro was the Santaland Diaries.

This one is for the hardcore fans- its a hilarious listen and gifts us with a more expansive look at David's earlier life and and gives a bit more background to the stories we've heard and read throughout the years.

Bad narrator with poor quality BUT a great story.

Why can't we at least have a black man narrate this, please? It us clearly time to revisit the story and use a narrator who can do some justice to the book. I mean, the audio quality is awful (think early aughts Librivox...but worse) and not to mention the narrator can't pronounce 'Baltimore' (balt-a-mor).

Um, what?

This series is getting very drawn out. It should have been a trilogy. I thought it would be a conclusion, but I was disgusted to find that it's a reiteration of the last 3 books and novellas. I think that I'm done with this author cashing in.

Not for me...This is Romance- Not Suspense

This book sounds like a thriller, but it isn't. I felt like this book was predictable. From the beginning. It's somewhat to be expected with romances/Nora Roberts in general. I just wasn't able to connect with any of the characters. The 'good' guys were a bit too good; the bad guys were absurdly over the top evil. If you like everything you've ever read by Nora Roberts, you'll probably like this. If you have a handful of ones that you don't like, you're better off going for something else.

Excellent Continuation

This was a great listen. I do think that it's important to have read (or listened to) the first book in the series (Ares).

I would consider this book to be primarily a sci-fi suspense, but as with the first book, there is a little something for everyone. Action, adventure, romance, cyborgs, pirates and mystery all play a large role.

While the narrator is excellent, I do think that this book would benefit from an additional female narrator.
