Good story
Revisado: 04-10-25
I like the over all story but the narrator had the character in a whiny voice the majority of the time and I was very close to returning the book. I ended up fast forwarding through some of the Lily dialogue just because I wanted to see how the bad guy was caught

Fun, easy listen
Revisado: 02-26-25
This book was a true whodunnit, in my opinion. It was an easy and enjoyable listen though if I listened at night it could put me asleep. My only problem, totally my problem, was remembering the names, who was who. There are a good number of characters all with Irish names so I had a hard time keeping them straight and at times wished for a cheat sheet.

More technical than I would have liked
Revisado: 10-11-24
This book is a lot about what the first responders go through in a catastrophic disaster. It seemed real to me though a first responder may disagree. There were some really slow parts but once they had an idea of the perpetrators it got more interesting.

Don’t waste your time
Revisado: 10-04-24
I wish I didn’t waste a credit on this book. The narration is horrible. The storyline isn’t bad but seems like it was written for a young teenager. So many times I thought about returning it but barreled through with a lot of out loud comments coming from me like, “this is ridiculous” or “are you kidding me”… Don’t waste your time nor credit like I did.

Some parts a sleeper and some were great!
Revisado: 07-18-24
This is the first Bosch book that I came very close to returning because it was so boring. The first 9 chapters is mostly about courtroom testimony. That’s not my kind of book. Starting around Chapter 10 the investigation started really being the main focus. It was at that point I started enjoying the book but still hit fast forward a few times.

A woman has vanished while digging a dinosaur bone bed in the remote wilderness of Canada. Somehow, the only evidence has made its way to the inbox of Chief Medical Examiner Kay Scarpetta, over two thousand miles away in Boston. She has no idea why. But as events unfold with alarming speed, Scarpetta begins to suspect that the paleontologist’s disappearance is connected to a series of crimes much closer to home: a gruesome murder, inexplicable tortures, and trace evidence from the last living creatures of the dinosaur age.

Almost gave up
Revisado: 04-25-24
The narrator is horrible! I almost gave up very early on but stuck with it.
I enjoyed the story overall but some of it seemed repetitive and I’d skip forward.
Next time I go to buy a Patricia Cornwell book I’ll listen to the sample first. If it’s the same narrator, I won’t get it.
I’ve read many of Cornwell’s books over the years but this is only the 2nd I’ve listened to.

Great story
Revisado: 01-27-24
I really enjoyed the story and hope the main character is brought forward in other books. The narrator at times was hard to distinguish which character voice she was using. At times it was confusing, thinking it was one character but then realizing it was the other. But overall I liked it

Good story but too long
Revisado: 01-20-24
It is a good story line had to fast forward through parts. One of those that you could start listening, go do something in the other room, come back 3-4 minutes later and not bother rewinding to hear what you missed.

Great story but narrator puts you asleep!
Revisado: 01-03-24
I enjoyed the story, it kept me wondering who did it.
The narrator though is monotone and literally had me falling asleep while on a long drive. I had to shut it off.
