Historia
Out of the blue, a young Space Fleet officer's dream becomes reality: He's made captain of a starship. Just in time for the return of humanity's most terrible enemy, after 50 years of peace. To survive against this enemy, Captain Tad Thatcher will have to do more than learn how to become an effective commander, or how to wrangle his wayward crew. He will need to reinvent space combat. From scratch.

Narrator has been good…
Revisado: 01-23-23
I needed something to listen to for road trips coming up. Commute to work is also long and this was 48 or so hours. So far the story has really sucked. Everything about it is fairly unbelievable from a character standpoint. “This person betrayed me, I’ll trust them again. Oh no! They betrayed me again. Guess I have to trust them again. On no, a third betrayal, only option is to trust them again.” This happens with multiple enemies/allies. The “love” story with Rose and Thatcher is just stupid also. “She is so dumb with this choice she made. I admire her. She is so dumb with this next choice she made.” Thatcher probably.
At this point, I am in book 4 but the story has only gone down hill from 1. I’m only gonna finish it because I still am driving a-lot and I like space.
Again; the narrator is at least really good! Props to him. If I had the paperback in my hands they would have been tossed so he has some serious perseverance. That and he gets paid to read.

Historia
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

Took a chance and am so glad I did!

Author of the book had a way of bringing together story elements from across the entire book (24+ hrs on Audible) and having them be relevant for individual plots. There was a limited over arching plot but it read like a video game. Sometimes another quest pops up when you were in the middle of a side quest. Kinda thing happens. I will certainly be claiming the rest of the series and I kinda hope it doesn’t have an end in sight.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

I’ve listened to this so many time but always come back again.
Revisado: 06-03-21
The story is outlined in a way the character gets to tell their backstory without being cliche. The reader learns about the character as the character remembers who he is himself. The story is compelling and the work put into the science is mind boggling. Between this and the Martian, I don’t know which is my favorite.

Historia
2526. It has been more than a year since humanity first encountered the hostile military alliance of alien races known as the Covenant, and several weeks after the United Nations Space Command’s devastating counterattack of Operation: SILENT STORM was deemed an overwhelming success. The UNSC has put its faith in the hands of the Spartans, led by the legendary Master Chief, John-117: enhanced super-soldiers raised and trained from childhood via a clandestine black ops project to be living weapons.

BLUF: Read by Scott Brick.... enough said.

Book is excellent, also its read by a narrator that has read alot of Jack Reacher books. Listening to the exploits of John 117 is almost the same thing as dropping Jack Reacher into the same universe with power armor. 343 Needs to keep writing books and having them read by Brooks.
