Historia
The Goldfinch is a haunted odyssey through present-day America and a drama of enthralling force and acuity. It begins with a boy. Theo Decker, a 13-year-old New Yorker, miraculously survives an accident that kills his mother. Abandoned by his father, Theo is taken in by the family of a wealthy friend. Bewildered by his strange new home on Park Avenue, disturbed by schoolmates who don't know how to talk to him, and tormented above all by his unbearable longing for his mother, he clings to one thing that reminds him of her: a small, mysteriously captivating painting that ultimately draws Theo into the underworld of art.

This seems to be a small portion of what you would expect. Great as a podcast, not for an audiobook. Partly inspired, partly disappointed in its overall length.

Hyde investigates how the relatively small corporations struggled in a postwar marketplace increasingly dominated by the giant firms of Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler, which benefited from economies of scale in styling, engineering, tooling, marketing, and sales. He examines the innovations that kept the independents' products distinctive from those of the Big Three and allowed them to survive and sometimes prosper against their larger competitors.

Huge fan, great book
Revisado: 01-27-17
Would you consider the audio edition of The Scattered and the Dead to be better than the print version?
You will go through the first chapter. Your mind will be blown. You will be hooked. The character development is genius. The McBain/Vargus team are the only ones that can read this and have it done right. The authors read this and portray it in a way that captivates from word one. Get it. Now.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Scattered and the Dead?
Never really been a zombie literature fan. This series has totally changed my mind.
What does Tim McBain and L.T. Vargus bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The authors presetlnt this topic on a way that make it interesting, not your typical apocalyptic story.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Not a thing.
Any additional comments?
Can't wait for the next part.

Historia
Six months after its American introduction in 1985, the Yugo was a punch line; within a year, it was a staple of late-night comedy. By 2000, NPR's Car Talk declared it "the worst car of the millennium." And for most Americans that's where the story begins and ends. Hardly. The short, unhappy life of the car, the men who built it, the men who imported it, and the decade that embraced and discarded it is rollicking and astounding, and it is one of the greatest untold business-cum-morality tales of the 1980s.
