Funny, Friendship, Social awareness for autism
Revisado: 02-06-25
Oh this was delightful! My boys 7 and 8 read this aloud during winter months and it was just what we needed. The writing is witty and the story opened so many conversations about navigating friendships and social situations. This dialog was especially helpful for my autistic son.

Historia
Eudora Honeysett is done with this noisy, moronic world - all of it. She has witnessed the indignities and suffering of old age and has lived a full life. At 85, she isn’t going to leave things to chance. Her end will be on her terms. With one call to a clinic in Switzerland, a plan is set in motion. Then she meets 10-year-old Rose Trewidney, a whirling, pint-sized rainbow of sparkling cheer. All Eudora wants is to be left alone to set her affairs in order.

Brilliant Narrator!
Revisado: 09-19-24
The narrator really brings this story to life for me. She can do the men's voices as well as the females which is a rare talent. The story alone is outstanding and so beautiful. On my top 10 list for sure.

Cressida & David Do it Again!
Revisado: 08-28-24
A lot of people know JK Rowling and Harry Potter, and we love those books too no doubt. But I say Cressida Cowell takes the cake for making magic and stories truly *delightful* again! All 12 How to Train Your Dragon stories are on regular repeat at our house and now we have tried this magical series. Both of which are narrated by David Tennant, who has to be THE most talented narrator!! My 8 and 6 year old boys and I loved every minute of this story and we can't wait for the next one! 👏🏼👏🏼

Excellent ending! All the Feels
Revisado: 08-01-24
Narration is well done, Story grabs you right off the bat then it's a slow burn through the middle but still so enjoyable getting to know the characters so well and guessing about what will happen. And then the ending is SO beautiful! It comes together well and you feel the deeper meaning light your heart. Another Lisa Wingate homerun!

More Drama than Inspiration
Revisado: 03-01-23
I really loved the (middle) part of the book that actually got to the storyline about the work that the library did during the war. But most of the book was two separate, choppy storylines with very shallow and selfish characters that sort of connected at the end but really didn’t have much of a redemption or profound ending. It definitely wasn’t my cup of tea. I returned it back to Audible.

Historia
Those who have made the decision to homeschool their children have done so out of great love for them and a desire to provide them an excellent education in the context of a warm, enriching home. Yet so many parents (mainly mothers) who have taken up this challenge find the enterprise often full of stress, worry, and anxiety.

Thought-provoking and Inspiring!
Revisado: 09-03-20
I read the hard copy first last fall. This story of grief and redemption and the sanctity of marriage had a profound impact on me. I am in the thick of motherhood like Ruth was in the story. I identified so much with her thoughts and struggles and especially the challenges that parenthood brings to what could otherwise be a healthy marriage. And then this summer I decided to listen to the audiobook version too — absolutely SO well done! The narrator perfectly captures each character and the emotions of each scene. The first time I read I was deeply engrossed and enthralled with each page turn. But then to LISTEN to it was pure enjoyment and a beautiful reminder of all the things I felt and thought the first time. READ it. LISTEN to it. You won’t regret it!
