Extremely powerful and important information and analysis. Outlines the major issue of inequality in the world, and all the devastating issues that spiral out of it. At the same time provides concrete steps that can be taken to redress the damaging effects of inequality, and to build toward a better future. Written accessibly and narrated beautifully, I cannot recommend this book enough.

Thomas Frank, arguably the best commentator on American politics, shows what has gone wrong and what needs to be done. Full of wisdom and insight. I cannot recommend this book too highly.

This is a great book, powerful, moving, sad, wonderful. I strongly recommend it. It is a story of courage and fortitude in the face of great stupidity, overconfidence and injustice.

Beautifully read. Among the funniest of Wodehouse's vast treasure trove. Mischief from start to finish.

Milestones to Disaster

This is a magnificent book, describing the many errors made by the British government (and to a lesser extent its allies) in the period after the Treaty of Versailles to Churchill's becoming prime minister in April 1940, at the time of the invasion of Holland and Belgium. It tells in detail the many decisions taken in the 1930s that served to strengthen Hitler's regime and military preparedness and weakened British military capacity to respond. It is marvellously read, a grim subject made exciting and inspiring.
