Story focuses primarily on European actors rather than providing a stronger analysis of the ottoman system, it’s breakdown and aftermath. The author reverts to tropes when discussing Turkish and Arab histories and overall prioritizes historical summaries, military history and caricature rather than historical analysis

Great introduction to revolutionary Russia. Somewhat unique in that, while it does not shy away from critique of the bolsheviks, it does not set out to paint them as the worlds greatest villains
