Enjoyable series
Revisado: 05-17-22
I enjoyed this series. I hope that if there are more books in this series that the character of Carol gets a little more airtime, she seems like her character could really get interesting.

Historia
Two brothers meet at the remote fence line separating their cattle ranches in the lonely outback. In an isolated belt of Western Australia, they are each other’s nearest neighbor, their homes a four-hour drive apart. The third brother lies dead at their feet. Something caused Cam, the middle child who had been in charge of the family homestead, to die alone in the middle of nowhere. So the eldest brother returns with his younger sibling to the family property and those left behind. But the fragile balance of the ranch is threatened.

Agree with others about the sound production
Revisado: 02-26-20
The book is amazing, the narrator does and excellent job. The story unfolds slowly and then you’re hooked. The mystery of the brother’s death slowly emerges with the story of the complicated lives in this family. I never guesses the path the book took towards the ending and who the integral characters were behind the mystery. I am happy to see Reese Witherspoon has purchased the film rights. I already have half the movie cast in my head.
I agree with many other reviewers that there something off with the sound engineering or something, it’s not just that the narrator fluctuates his volume. Annoying, but manageable.

Historia
When Wynn and Jack decide to canoe the Maskwa River in Northern Canada, they anticipate long days of leisurely paddling and picking blueberries and nights of stargazing and reading paperback Westerns. But a wildfire making its way across the forest adds unexpected urgency to the journey. When they hear a man and woman arguing on the fog-shrouded riverbank and decide to warn them about the fire, their search for the pair turns up nothing and no one. But: The next day, a man appears on the river, paddling alone. Is this the man they heard? And, if he is, where is the woman?

Amazing
Revisado: 08-10-19
I loved it. Mark Deakins is the perfect narrator for Heller’s work. I want to hold this story and squeeze it close. I cried, I felt a heartache, I will hold this story in a special place. I felt like I was on the river and I wanted to hug those boys, my mom instincts were triggered hard. I love the way he explored their relationship, the back stories, the survival and the anguish.

Historia
Does nature really make us feel better? The 3-Day Effect takes a look at the science behind why being in the wild can make us happier, healthier, and more creative. Whether it’s rafting down Utah’s Green River, hiking in Utah’s wilderness, or walking through Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC, scientists are finding that the more exposure humans have to nature, the more we can benefit from reduced anxiety, enhanced creativity, and overall well-being.

Gives hope
Revisado: 05-11-19
This is really a podcast format, not an audiobook, but I really liked it. It’s so encouraging to know there are people out there working hard to find different treatment modalities for people who have been impacted by trauma. This makes me want to find a wilderness guide or a group that does these guided “glamping” and intensive experiences.

Historia
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

Historia
Sam Hill always saw the world through different eyes. Born with red pupils, he was called “Devil Boy” or Sam “Hell” by his classmates; “God’s will” is what his mother called his ocular albinism. Her words were of little comfort, but Sam persevered. Sam believed it was God who sent Ernie Cantwell, the only African American kid in his class, to be the friend he so desperately needed. And that it was God’s idea for Mickie Kennedy to storm into Our Lady of Mercy like a tornado, uprooting every rule Sam had been taught about boys and girls. Forty years later, Sam, a small-town eye doctor, is no longer certain anything was by design.

Historia
After everything that the citizens of Beartown have gone through, they are struck yet another blow when they learn that their beloved local hockey team will soon be disbanded. What makes it worse is the obvious satisfaction that all the former Beartown players, who now play for a rival team in Hed, take in that fact. Amidst the mounting tension between the two rivals, a surprising newcomer is handpicked to be Beartown's new hockey coach. Soon a new team starts to take shape around Amat, the fastest player you'll ever see; Benji, the crazed lone wolf; and Vidar, a born-to-be-bad troublemaker.

Story of WWII
Revisado: 01-24-19
This was simply about cruelty and forced sex during WWII.
Surely there is a story but after 9 chapters of making a very strong attempt to listen to this i give up. We all know of the forced prostitution, in humane treatment of Jews, and in general the poor treatment of lots of people. there was no historical issues to bring sence to this book.
