Scary situation

I thought the story was well told. I could feel some panic in myself while hearing the story. The depravity of one man and the cruelness is truly unbelievable. Glad I listened to it in a sitting

Heartwarming

It was such a beautiful voyage of love, fear and uncertainty that we all can or will relate to. I really appreciated it as an audiobook. Books like these need a narrator I believe.

Historia
It’s not always easy to tell when you’re dealing with a narcissist. One day they draw you in with their confidence and charisma, the next they gaslight you, wreck your self-confidence, and leave you wondering, What could I have done differently? As Dr. Ramani Durvasula reveals in It's Not You, the answer is: absolutely nothing. Just as a tiger can’t change its stripes, a narcissist won’t stop manipulating and invalidating you. To heal in the aftermath of their abuse and protect yourself from future harm, you first have to accept that you are not to blame.

So helpful for my healing
Revisado: 05-16-24
I’ve been watching Dr Ramani videos for months mainly due to my interest in psychology. Surprisingly to me, I ended up with a narcissist. Luckily with some of what I learned from her videos I got out of it quickly. I finally went full no contact and got this book this week. After listening, I feel much better sitting with my decisions now and know for a fact I did what was best for me.
Thank you Dr. Ramani for the good work you do.

Kept me going
Revisado: 04-10-24
I listened to this in two parts in one day. It was very interesting and raises some questions I hadn’t thought of before in regard to OKC. I was just out of HS when it happened and can’t say I ever dug into the story super deeply however I consider myself informed on it. This brought another piece to it that has me thinking. I enjoyed the narrator very much and he landed some good interviews from those very close to the action. Recommend listening to

Historia
What is the meaning of life? It's a question every thoughtful person has pondered at one time or another. Indeed, it may be the biggest question of all-at once profound and universal, but also deeply personal. We want to understand the world in which we live, but we also want to understand how to make our own lives as meaningful as possible; to know not only why we're living, but that we're doing it with intention, purpose, and ethical commitment.

As a new student of philosophy, taking in this course over several weeks was enlightening. How incredibly thought provoking Professor Garfield was throughout the lecture series kept me pausing and rewinding and pondering his thoughts. I will definitely come back to this in the future.

Historia
Born in 1905 in the center of the crumbling Austro-Hungarian Empire, Viktor Frankl was a witness to the great political, philosophical, and scientific upheavals of the 20th century. In these stirring recollections, Frankl describes how as a young doctor of neurology in prewar Vienna, his disagreements with Freud and Adler led to the development of "the third Viennese School of Psychotherapy", known as logotherapy; recounts his harrowing trials in four concentration camps during the War; and reflects on the celebrity brought by Man's Search for Meaning in 1945.

Once again I am just so in awe of this man who had given so much, only to come out the other side wanting to help humanity. I have many struggles in life due to mental health and I thank him for his tireless work to improve the field of psychology.
