Historia
Most people rely only on their life experience to make investment decisions. This causes them to overlook cyclical forces that repeatedly reshape economies and markets. Investing in U.S. Financial History fills this void by recounting the comprehensive financial history of the United States of America. It begins with Alexander Hamilton’s financial programs in 1790 and ends with the Federal Reserve’s battle with inflation in 2023. Investing in U.S. Financial History reveals that there is almost no financial event that is unprecedented.

Good History, But Not Much On How to Use It
Revisado: 03-06-25
I listened to this book over several days. Overall, I enjoyed it. Perhaps it's the way it's titled, but I was expecting more on investing and less on history. Regardless, if you're not familiar with the financial history of the U.S., this is a great place to start.
One slightly annoying feature of the Audible version are all the "Point of Interest" side notes dispersed throughout the book. Although great, the constant jumping in and out of them makes it harder to keep up with the story. I don't have a solution other than maybe read them all at the end of each chapter or maybe as an appendix at the end of the book.

all the “energy of the universe” silliness. The rest of the advice is solid. A person can have financial success without many of the complications the financial service industry promotes.

Okay with an abrupt end
Revisado: 07-01-23
I listened to this over a couple of days. It was decent enough, but the story seemed farfetched with a guy in his early 20s gaining so much respect in such a short amount of time. The principles were good, but the story needs work. Also, it ends abruptly. I was like, "Is that it?"

Given that you have invested in this collection, you are likely aware of Robert Kiyosaki’s classic work: Rich Dad, Poor Dad. And you’ll hear several key ideas from this classic work as part of this collection. But you may not be aware of the large body of principles and ideas from Rich Dad that went well beyond the scope of that classic work—and literally encompassed every meaningful area of investing, entrepreneurial success and wealth—to ultimately achieve Rich Dad’s mission: to elevate the financial well-being of humanity.

it’s too repetitive. I’m barely into the series and have already heard the same ideas at least twice. Other than that, it’s fine.

Historia
Our world is packed with lies and loss of trust. Wars and rumors of war. Devastation and disaster. Pressure and persecution. Lawlessness and lovelessness. Some days it seems like bad news all around. And with bad news comes questions: “Why is this happening? When will it stop? What can we do?” And perhaps the most pressing of all: “Is this the end?” In this hope-filled book, bestselling author, pastor, and respected Bible teacher Dr. David Jeremiah focuses our attention not on the problems at hand, but on the hand of God.

Historia
Following a remarkable epoch of greater dispersion of wealth and opportunity, we are inexorably returning towards a more feudal era marked by greater concentration of wealth and property, reduced upward mobility, demographic stagnation, and increased dogmatism. If the last 70 years saw a massive expansion of the middle class, not only in America but in much of the developed world, today that class is declining and a new, more hierarchical society is emerging. The new class structure resembles that of Medieval times.

Historia
The most important fact about the coronavirus pandemic that turned the world upside down in 2020 is that our response to it has been an epic overreaction driven by a disastrous confluence of public and private interests - all of them purporting to “follow the science”. Since the lockdowns began, millions of Americans have relied on the reporting of Alex Berenson. Exposing the hysteria and manipulation behind the worst failure of public policy since World War I, this clear-eyed journalist has been a critical source of reason and truth.

Great Information, Poor Recording
Revisado: 12-03-21
Alex did an amazing job with this book, but the Audible version is hard to listen to because of all the errors and repeats. I'm roughly halfway through listening and would say that there are easily 30 recording mistakes. Other than that, it's an excellent book and one everyone should either read or listen to.

Historia
Throughout history, humans have been driven by the quest for two cherished ideals: community and freedom. The two don’t coexist easily. We value individuality and self-reliance, yet are utterly dependent on community for our most basic needs. In this intricately crafted and thought-provoking book, Sebastian Junger examines the tension that lies at the heart of what it means to be human.

Meh

It was “okay”, I suppose. Felt all over the place at times with seemingly unrelated stories or thoughts interspersed with the story about walking along the railroad tracks. It felt like two different articles thrown together and stretched into a very short book.

Peter Schweizer's bombshell investigation reveals how Washington really works: politicians extort money from us, then use it to buy each other's votes. Our legislators' desire for cash influences everything-from how they write laws to when they vote on a bill... Extortion finally makes clear why Congress is so dysfunctional: it's all about making money, not making law.
