The story is entertaining and different, not as good as some previous ones, but I did really enjoy it.

Even though running Crewel World keeps Betsy plenty busy, a little extra cash on the side doesn't hurt. So when the local senior complex, Watered Silk, asks her to teach a class on the tricky punch needle technique, Betsy jumps at the opportunity to win over some new customers.

Great story, worth sitting through awful narration
Revisado: 05-22-22
Unfortunately for some reason or another this book has been read by a different narrator. She's not too bad on the regular reading, but she cannot do voices, they honestly make you cringe.
She even gives Lars some strange Norwegian accent whereas he's only a descendent from what I remember.
But weird voices to absolutely everyone and each of them annoying.
Wanted to hear the book so suffered through it. The story is a good one and makes it worth it.
The story leaves you hanging till the end going back and forth between various suspects. It was one of my favorites by Monica Ferris.
Am really going to miss this series.

Historia
Owner of the Crewel World needlework shop and part-time sleuth Betsy Devonshire heads for the Minnesota north woods to renovate an old cabin. But beneath the awful linoleum is something even uglier--the skeleton of a Nazi. Betsy's investigation yields the site of a former German POW camp, a mysterious crocheted rug, and an intricately designed pattern of clues to a decades-old crime.

This probably was my favorite book from the series. It was super interesting about the POW camps in Minnesota I never knew about. Excellent murder plot and unraveling of the truth. I really enjoyed it.

Historia
There's a witch running loose in the town of Excelsior, Minnesota, and her brew is…beer. Actually, Leona Cunningham, co-owner of The Barleywine, is a practitioner of Wicca, which many mistakenly believe to be sorcery or black magic. Then, after one too many pints, local alcohol aficionado Ryan McMurphy accuses Leona of being a real witch, blaming her for the series of accidents. When Ryan ends up dead, without a mark on his body, Leona is not only the target of a witch hunt but also the prime suspect.

Excellent light fare for needlework lovers
Revisado: 04-26-22
Decent story, a little too obvious of a plot, but I still really enjoyed it although it seems an odd way to commit murder it was at least original (at least I have never seen the use of dry ice in a murder). I stitched whilst listening, it was a perfect pastime together, I loved every minute of it.
The writer knows a fair bit about needlepoint/cross stitch, but I don't think she stitches as there are mistakes an experienced needleworker wouldn't make.

Historia
As owner of the Crewel World needlework shop and part-time sleuth, Betsy Devonshire has become skilled at weaving suspicious threads together. Just back from a trip to Thailand, Doris Valentine is eager to show her stitching friends her souvenirs, which include dazzling Thai silk. She also has a small stone Buddha that she agreed to deliver to an antique store in St. Paul. It's wrapped in a dirty rag, which she throws away.

Historia
Lottie just knows that her boyfriend is going to propose during lunch at one of London’s fanciest restaurants. But when his big question involves a trip abroad, not a trip down the aisle, she’s completely crushed. So when Ben, an old flame, calls her out of the blue and reminds Lottie of their pact to get married if they were both still single at 30, she jumps at the chance. No formal dates - just a quick march to the altar and a honeymoon on Ikonos, the sun-drenched Greek island where they first met years ago. Their family and friends are horrified. Fliss, Lottie’s older sister, knows that Lottie can be impulsive - but surely this is her worst decision yet.

Loved the story, although it was a bit wilde and sometimes a little out there, it made for a superb light listen.
If you simply want to listen to a heartwarming and relaxing story, this is the book for you.
100% chicklit, I loved it. I stitch whilst listening to books and I enjoyed every moment, especially as I had just finished a very heavy book, which made me appreciate this one even more.

Historia
Brant Samson has fallen on hard times with the death of his beloved wife a year earlier from lung fever. Left with three children, he's desperate to find a mother for them. Ten year old Jenny does her best to care for two year old Ty, and fourteen year old Luke works the ranch with his father, losing himself in dime novels to ease the pain of his mother's death. Brant's options are limited since eligible women seldom pass through Two Rivers, much less settle in the small Texas town.

Very monotone narration ok story
Revisado: 12-26-21
The story remains very superficial, I didn't get emotionally sucked in like a good romance novel can do.
The narration is pretty poor. Part of it is simply because I find the lady's voice annoying, but most of it is her monotone rendition of the story.
There were a few occasions where I wanted to stop, but in the end I did listen to the entire book.
Don't feel like I wasted my time, but at the same time wouldn't ever listen to this book again.

Historia
Prickly, wry, resistant to change yet ruthlessly honest and deeply empathetic, Olive Kitteridge is “a compelling life force” (San Francisco Chronicle). The New Yorker has said that Elizabeth Strout “animates the ordinary with an astonishing force”, and she has never done so more clearly than in this book, where the iconic Olive struggles to understand not only herself and her own life but the lives of those around her in the town of Crosby, Maine.

Better than the first book
Revisado: 12-25-21
A lot more cohesive than the first book although there were still numerous characters that took the main seat. Would have liked the book better if it was more of Olive and didn't jump around era phases.

Historia
At times stern, at other times patient, at times perceptive, at other times in sad denial, Olive Kitteridge, a retired schoolteacher, deplores the changes in her little town of Crosby, Maine, and in the world at large, but she doesn’t always recognize the changes in those around her: a lounge musician haunted by a past romance; a former student who has lost the will to live; Olive’s own adult child, who feels tyrannized by her irrational sensitivities; and her husband, Henry, who finds his loyalty to his marriage both a blessing and a curse.
