Historia
Reese Witherspoon’s grandmother Dorothea always said a combination of beauty and strength made Southern women “whiskey in a teacup”. We may be delicate and ornamental on the outside, she said, but inside, we’re strong and fiery. Reese’s Southern heritage informs her whole life, and she loves sharing the joys of Southern living with practically everyone she meets. She takes the South wherever she goes with bluegrass, big holiday parties, and plenty of Dorothea’s fried chicken.

Might As Well Be A Confederate Flag on the Cover
Revisado: 12-06-18
Reese is adorable and sweet and cute, and there are some great tips sprinkled in here. It’s a fun quick listen. But it gets REALLY awkward when she keeps talking about how great the South is with not a single note about how horrible it has historically been for non-white people. She talks about Nashville being a center for race relation reform without a whiff of why that reform was needed in the first place. I’m not calling it racist, but it is a definite whitewashing and glorification of the South.

Not her finest

Usually really enjoy Jane Green, but this one left a little to be desired. Unexpected and disappointing ending, but overall an enjoyable listen.
