Historia
An escape from the exciting life of New Orleans ghost tours sounded like a good idea at the time. Micah invites Alex along to experience a few days of crafts, fabrics, and hanging out with friends. Except the group is more interested in ghost hunting than costume making. When a couple from the group go missing, Alex claims to see something in the dark. As Micah’s troubled history begins to catch up with him, he realizes that the shadows followed them from New Orleans. He’s not sure if it’s their demons causing trouble, or someone human who is murdering competition.

Enjoyable
Revisado: 09-14-22
It's not letting me review for the first book, so I'm going to review for the whole series here.
Narrator:
I've listened to his performance with the Kitsune Chronicles and did not like his portrayal with a female characters voice. This time around however, it was perfect. I'm glad I didn't say no to this series because of the narrator as I have before.
Story:
There's a lot of aspects of the story, but it's well done and integrated with each other aspect beautifully. I enjoyed how the author portrayed military PTSD. I think she did a great job with that as well as the other main characters response with it.
The romance part moves quickly and while I don't normally like that, it was so well done and more realistic with the characters characteristics.
I loved their characteristics and humor. The way they talked with and about each other. It's a well done love story and paranormal story.
This is one of the series I have already listened to several times.
The only thing I'm disappointed on is that I'd love to have more story into Lukas and Sky's characters and their story. I wouldn't mind a separate series of their story. The story left me hanging with them at the end but may not be the same for everyone.
Overall a good read and listen. It's a fun series with serious undertones.
I know someone commented about how one of the characters mentions he's glad he doesn't have as dark skin as his father and while it sounds bad, I feel like it's out of context. The context is more about showing the racism and judgement the character had witnessed his father and others go through in the past and his relief seems justified based on that.

Loved and a bit heartbreaking
Revisado: 06-08-22
I love this one, however there is a part that broke my heart and I cried the whole way home from work listening and my kids laughed at me because, "It's just a book and the characters aren't real" (even though they've both cried over characters themselves).
Don't read if you're emotional, don't listen while at work or where you're around people you don't want to cry around.

Historia
Sebastian Volkov, a fox shifter raised among werewolves, ran from everything he ever loved after a brutal attack that left him fearing his own shadow. That night a single kiss saved his life and left him with fantasies of a man whose face he couldn’t remember. When Sebastian’s car breaks down in a small Washington town, he meets an alpha werewolf who reminds him vaguely of a stranger’s kiss.

Love his voice and the story
Revisado: 06-08-22
I love this book and was excited to listen. There's only two things I didn't like.
1st- I have to skip any parts where Korissa speaks because I can't stand the way the voice is for her. It's like nails on a chalkboard to my ears. Because I read the book several times before listening, I don't need to listen to her part in the book because I already know what her importance is. If you can get through a high pitched squeaking screeching for a time, the rest of the narration is perfect. The narration for everything is great and with his normal voice, I could listen to him all the time.
2nd- The other bothersome thing is with the story itself. Liam keeps saying how they have time for him to share his history and parts of his life while he expects Sebastion to reveal everything about himself. He knows it frustrates sebastion but he continues to just say, "time". I didn't like that at all.

Historia
In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

I didn't know what to expect but it definitely wasn't how this book developed. I enjoyed it a lot and it definitely broke my heart a bit but definitely a great listen.

Historia
When you can talk to ghosts, things are bound to get spirited. The ghosts have been there since before I can remember. When I was a kid, they doted on me, but as I got older, they got more demanding. I’ve spent my whole life seeing and talking to dead people and trying to pretend I’m not, because the living just don’t understand. Nobody wants to be around the freak who claims to see ghosts. Until I go to Mannix Estate.

Better than I expected
Revisado: 06-08-22
Narrator- Great performance. The only thing I didn't like was, the narration was sometimes fast. I don't want to say rushed, but just fast spoken and it was difficult to catch everything sometimes. Other than that, I enjoyed his narration quite a bit.
Story- I rarely actually laugh out loud, but I did several times. I enjoyed all of the characters and their personalities. I will definitely listen to again.

Historia
Sava has the best house in all of Lukos. He built it himself, dreaming of the day when he and Milan, the man he loved, could live there and brave the harsh winters of Lukos together—only to be devastated when Milan was found dead in the spring. Victor is a scholar from Gerakia, a land known for its long summers and vibrant history, and he has never been more unprepared in his life. Abandoned on the inhospitable island of Lukos after a disastrous relationship, Victor has to adapt quickly to survive. It helps, of course, that he’s taken in by Sava.

Cute
Revisado: 06-08-22
This book wasn't what I thought it'd be.
I thought the love story would develop over a longer period of time and was a little disappointed with that. That being said, I did enjoy the love story. I liked both characters. The description of the book made it seem like the long winters were...long but it didn't feel that way but that was the only disappointment.
I thought the narrator was great except for when doing a woman's voice. I find that I'd rather a male narroator just lower his voice a bit, make his voice softer and maybe a bit quieter versus changing the whole voice trying to sound like a woman which rather hurts my ears. There wasn't much need for the women's voices and he did good, but would have been much better just softening his voice while lowering the volume level, I think.
The overall story wasn't epic or anything but cute and enjoyable.

Historia
At 40, Lan Davis is looking for his damned picket fence and two point five kids. What he doesn't expect is instead of a wife in the picture, his mind keeps conjuring up images of two men. One, his partner in the force, who is as straight as they came, the other an ex, who he'd hurt but never forgot. After an incident leaves Lan injured, the two men rally around him...only maybe they shouldn't have. It seems a medicated Lan is a truthful one.

Love the book
Revisado: 06-08-22
I read the book awhile ago and loved it but when I tried listening I could only get a few chapters in before I knew I couldn't get through listening to the rest. Easton's voice bothered me. I guess it's not really the voice as much as the narration. It just sounded like he was trying to narrate while freezing cold and was struggling to speak. The very first chapter was great but after the first chapter when he wasn't nervous and shy as much, I'd expected a more solid narration. The other voices were good, though I ended up returning the book because I'll never be able to get through listening to Easton's character. I feel bad saying it but it honestly began to give me a headache. I suggest listening to a sample before purchase.
I do hope though that I'm the only one who feels this way because it is a good book and I've reread it several times.

Something that got her sent to Thurmond, a brutal government "rehabilitation camp." She might have survived the mysterious disease that killed most of America's children, but she and the others emerged with something far worse: frightening abilities they cannot control. Now sixteen, Ruby is one of the dangerous ones.

Can't decide if I like it or not
Revisado: 05-09-22
The beginning and end music was unnecessary to have while the narrator was speaking. It made it difficult to hear everything.
I do think the story line has been done often enough and was fairly predictable, but it was still decently done. I compare it to Stephen King's The Institute. same story line for the most part but with different government approaches to the kids.
I did get frustrated at the end because the main character kept making obviously stupid decisions and mistakes. Unnecessary mistakes. It felt like after all they'd been through, you'd think she'd have learned better.
I think I felt betrayed by her at the end for the last few choices she made and felt heartbreak for the other character who didn't deserve it.
Some reviews didn't like the narrator but I thought she was good because her voice wasn't too much like an adult but not too childish. It was a good in between.
