Narrator was very serious
Revisado: 02-28-21
I wasn’t a fan of the narrator’s tone, being so serious and trying to portray his idea of a square jawed FBI mans man. Shoot. I don’t know, maybe that’s exactly how Chris Voss is in person. I don’t know. That was just my impression. Good stuff in this book overall. I just had to get past the inflection and “delivery” of the narration.

Incredible Story
Revisado: 12-21-20
You’ve heard about this book for years and years and years. Once you read it, or listen here on Audible, you will understand why.
My only issue with the performance was that, you have multiple readers taking on different sections and characters, and sometimes different voices will be voicing the same character in a different section.

Far more politics than fraternity.

Excellent, almost too thorough
Revisado: 12-12-20
Think of this as an intro to secret societies and underground political groups. There is a lot to chew on in here, and Professor Spence has a lot to tell you about. Each of these lectures covers so much political history and intrigue that Spence could do another entire series for each one of these individual lectures. But overall, really good perspective here.

How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

Gladwell is a master of contextualization
Revisado: 11-24-19
Malcolm Gladwell‘s ability to contextualize complex human dynamics is unparalleled and continues to show in his latest work. Every law enforcement officer and social service executor in the world should read this text. Likewise, anybody who wants to understand human behavior to a further degree, including their own, should read or listen to this text.

Historia
From the internationally bestselling author of No god but God comes a fascinating, provocative, and meticulously researched biography that challenges long-held assumptions about the man we know as Jesus of Nazareth. Sifting through centuries of mythmaking, Reza Aslan sheds new light on one of history's most influential and enigmatic characters by examining Jesus through the lens of the tumultuous era in which he lived: first-century Palestine, an age awash in apocalyptic fervor.

Reza leaves a lot out
Revisado: 03-21-19
This book seems to have been written for the purpose of introducing Christians to the historical Jesus in the context of ancient Palestine. I suppose if one is going to get Christians to start asking logical questions, this is a good place to start. The book may be somewhat disappointing to those who already have a good grasp of the history surrounding the myth of Jesus. Reza uses quotes from the Bible to make historical and seemingly factual points without much contrast, if any, from other historical documents and works on the subject. While he does reference and site non-canonized gospels to provide more understanding and chronology, I would consider the book limited in scope. However, it serves it's purpose of introducing new readers to the subject.

Excellent resource
Revisado: 09-15-18
Written by two of the masters in the subject. Very applicable to the smallest start ups to the largest multi-nationals... which is nearly impossible to find such a universal presentation for such a wide audience.
