Historia
By age 24, charming mob boss Michael Franzese was one of the wealthiest people on Fortune magazine’s survey. As one of the rare people who quit the mob and lived to tell about it, Franzese has a unique perspective on how business is done. And one thing he noticed was that the way he made millions per week in business inside the mob can be applied to doing business outside the mob (minus the illegal part).

Choose Solomon.
Revisado: 11-22-24
Was a fan of Michael before, am going to get all his books now. A great direct book on business and life, surprised me with how useful and applicable it is . To many great things to mention, but his observations on gambling and how to forgo a business meeting and do a " sit down " alone are worth a listen.

Historia
Imagine a Museum of Lost Art. If this imaginary museum contained just the artwork we knew was lost— whether from theft, purposeful destruction, vandalism, war, or the forces of nature—it would still contain more masterpieces than those in all the world’s current museums combined. Imagine that! In Lost Art: The Stories of Missing Masterpieces, art historian Noah Charney guides you through just such an imaginary museum. In 12 fascinating lectures, you will hear the stories behind the theft and/or destruction of some of the world’s most famous pieces of art.

Good expect for some poor scholarship and research
Revisado: 09-03-24
Was very happy until the author showing his bias and poor research and scholarship said outright The Shroud of Turin is a Painting . Many experts have testified that it is NOT a painting , it has many elements that are not found in paintings including 3d elements as well as the photographic negatives that reveal elements that because of that tech were not revealed in prior analysis . the photographic evidence found in the negative images show it is not a painting . Otherwise very good but this glaring mistake shows that all might not be as accurate as he claimed , be on your guard with any of his other works .

Historia
On screen, Danny Trejo the actor is a baddie who has been killed at least a hundred times. He’s been shot, stabbed, hanged, chopped up, squished by an elevator, and once, was even melted into a bloody goo. Off screen, he’s a hero beloved by recovery communities and obsessed fans alike. But the real Danny Trejo is much more complicated than the legend.

Danny , God bless you in your life and work !
Revisado: 07-26-21
Best book so far this year , best bio I have ever listen to. Honest and raw , humor and sadness, I was not a big fan of his before this , I am now . Another reviewer complained about the narration, it does start off rough , it is read by the author , which I love but who else could give this story the honesty and gravitas but him . He has a rough voice but for this his story it is perfect , it might take getting used too but this story is well wort it , the pacing is good , this is the type of audiobook I love on a commute or just relaxing , it is like a friend is telling you a good story over dinner or a road trip. Danny God bless you in your life and work , I am sure you have helped many people in many ways, love too meet you one day , looking forward to the sequel to this book , which I think we make a great one man play as well . Great book thank you for doing it .

VERY FUNNY with some sad parts , good bio
Revisado: 01-26-18
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes , it is very funny with some sad parts related to child abuse . The narration was done by the author herself so it was if she was telling you the story , it added credibility and emotion to the story that given some of the gut wrenching parts made it powerful . The stories were I believe and she spoke clearly and was not hesitant in the use of profanity , this is a woman that I would like to have a beer with and hear more stories . Given the current revelations of harassment and abuse this woman ,should be seen as a source of inspiration in how to deal with and persevere .She has a wicked and sharp wit with a twisted sense of humor , this is a woman we need more of !.
What did you like best about this story?
The stories of life behind the scenes of the tv show , her honesty and humor in all her travails .
Which scene was your favorite?
The scene at the school where she was kicked , fell down and could not get up because of her dress, told in a brutal funny way . There were other scenes that were just as funny , this is one of the best biographies that I have heard in a long time.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes and no , I listen to all my books on my commute or just regular driving so I listen to them episodically, this book was great in that the performance was like a friend in the car telling you stories on a road trip. That is my personal standard of excellence in a audio book I could listen to it in one sitting but I was glad I was able take a break when the sad parts were told.
Any additional comments?
Really enjoyed this book , ( I don't post reviews for all my titles ) so this one did stand out , I hope Ms Arngrim will narrate more books or will write more herself. God bless her for her work with children and the ill , again we need more people like her .

Milo
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Historia
"Marley was dead to begin with...." These chillingly familiar words begin the classic Christmas tale of remorse and redemption in A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Now R. William Bennett rewinds the story and focuses the spotlight on Scrooge’s miserly business partner, Jacob T. Marley, who was allowed to return as a ghost to warn Scrooge away from his ill-fated path. Why was Marley allowed to return? And why hadn’t he been given the same chance as Ebenezer Scrooge? Or had he?

Not that I am aware of but I will look for him now .

Jacob himself , it answers some questions from "A Christmas Carol"
