It's very helpful. Even if you already read plenty of self help, you might greatly benefit from hearing out family constellation perspective on things.

Misplaced anger and selective outrage

Good
Revisado: 01-27-25
Helped me understand some of the reasons for the outrage. Before I had hard time grasping why what she said it's seen as such controversy. I also see Rowling's position and reasoning behind it. She's a courageous woman, no doubt. Podcast is well balanced and I liked learning the history of the movement and how it's become the major political issue it is today. Overall, I'm glad I listened.

Historia
Maria Bamford is a comedian’s comedian (an outsider among outsiders) and has forever fought to find a place to belong. From struggling with an eating disorder as a child of the 1980s, to navigating a career in the arts (and medical debt and psychiatric institutionalization), she has tried just about every method possible to not only be a part of the world, but to want to be a part of it. In Bamford’s “trademark blend of disarming intimacy and dark whimsy” (Publishers Weekly), Sure, I’ll Join Your Cult brings us on a quest to participate in something.

Historia
In A Mind at Home with Itself, Byron Katie illuminates one of the most profound ancient Buddhist texts, The Diamond Sutra (newly translated by distinguished scholar Stephen Mitchell), to reveal the nature of the mind and to liberate us from painful thoughts, using her revolutionary system of self-inquiry called "The Work". Byron Katie doesn't merely describe the awakened mind; she empowers us to see it and feel it in action.

This is her best book
Revisado: 01-11-24
It's so so hard to grała that on a first read I nearly rejected it. It takes time to sink in but it's the best book of hers and one of the best I've ever listened to. Katie and Steve really are a duo. What they being to the table together is an entirely different caliber than just doing the work. I adore this book. It's intensely calming for me, even in the hardest moment. I just play it and I'm instantly reminded that nothing is quite what it seems like. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Success Is for You draws upon many concepts that fans of Dr. Hawkins will recognize and applies them to the world of business and the psychology of success. Expanding upon the illuminating discussion of the attractor patterns of success from Power vs. Force, this remarkable never-before-published book pulls back the curtain on the inner workings of the successful mind. Success, according to Dr. Hawkins, is an attitude we inhabit rather than a goal we strive for.

Revisado: 10-12-23
It's a terrible book. Half of it hits ramblings about all the business/restaurants that did him wrong. He obviously wrote it while hanging out in lower states of consciousness... Honestly I'm on chapter 6 and I physically feel this book dragging me down. Not sure if I'll finish it. Might need to skip couple of chapters...

Revisado: 05-11-23
For making me realize old testament is just a complete waste of time. I approached curiosity but this is just ridiculous. As Robert Anton Wilson said, whichever side you take, you'll always find proof it's true. This is what Haiser is all about. He takes side of OT god in every case and tries, tries so hard trying to prove his actions make sense. They don't, but if you want to believe real hard, you can make it your truth and Heiser will help you.

Historia
David Icke has been writing books for decades warning that current events were coming. He has faced ridicule and abuse for saying that the end of human freedom was being planned, how, and by whom. The Trap is the "Rosetta Stone" of illusory reality and opens the door to freedom in its greatest sense. Listen to this book and the "world" will never look the same again. The veil of illusion shall be swept aside and the amazing truth this has kept from us shall set you free.

I'm waiting for his other books in audio
Revisado: 02-08-23
Even if not read by David, any good narrator would suffice, for me. This audiobook was fantastic and I enjoyed it very much from start to finish. Yes, the beginning is very much an autobiography but it was ok for me, since I didn't know that much about Icke's life.
I was always checking for David Icke in audible but there was nothing. So, "the trap" made me really happy. Saddly I'm a rather slow reader and I've been discouraged from reading most of his books by their sheer volume. So, again, I loved this one.

I hate this book
Revisado: 02-05-23
First of all, I'm not Christian. I'm not saying there's noting to learn from Bible, maybe there is. But this audiobook calls for 11hs of my life. And, I swear, at least 3 of those hours are spent locating things in the Bible. It's appalling waste of my time. It might be tolerable when you deal with a printed version yet still, what a waste of paper. Just tell me about boundaries, which is what I paid for, don't make a Bible study out of it!!! Even if you're ideas are Bible based, this format is incredibly unpleasant to listen to!

Historia
One of the very best scientific predictors for how any child turns out - in terms of happiness, academic success, leadership skills, and meaningful relationships - is whether at least one adult in their life has consistently shown up for them. In an age of scheduling demands and digital distractions, showing up for your child might sound like a tall order. But as best-selling authors Daniel Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson reassuringly explain, it doesn’t take a lot of time, energy, or money. Instead, showing up means offering a quality of presence.

Chapter 2
Revisado: 01-20-23
Shook me to the core. It's titled "why do some parents show up while others don't? ". It made me realize I have disorganized attachment and first time I found a book that doesn't shy from speaking about the taboo of being a bad parent. I sucked at it, especially first 2 years. I've improved a lot but I couldn't find a cohesive answer to why I have uncontrollable outbursts of anger mixed with helplessness and overwhelm. I fit the disorganized attachment to a T.... But I only becomes obvious in light of my parenting. I used to identify as anxiously attached before, in light of my relationships this was the more obvious answer. But now I know and I know this knowledge will be useful found forward. I wish there was even more about parents themselves and if there's a book about how to heal yourself too, it would be great. In the meantime, I'm just trying to be a better mom...
