Parenting is hard. Period. Parenting a high-functioning autistic child can be twice as challenging. Take it from a mom who knows and has stood in your shoes. Dealing with tantrums, meltdowns, self-regulation, and social and emotional barriers are all part and parcel of your life now, and you don’t want to be the parent that is unprepared.

Written by AI? Not good!
Revisado: 02-04-24
Having an ASD level 1 kid myself, I’ve learned exactly zero new thing after listening to this book. It’s replete with super general and basic info and tips, like breathing. And trying a visual chart. You are better off reading blogposts.
The book cites ZERO medical study and ZERO expert in the field. There was ZERO descriptive personal anecdote, aside from a few mentions of her son. Everything was so basic and general. Do self care. Find a good school. Use a visual calendar. I really think someone used AI to write this book to profit from the community.
Also the book says the term ‘high functioning autistic child’ SO MUCH, often back to back, in adjacent sentences. I wonder if they did a search-replace with another book about assertive children, and they just changed it to autistic children. Some of the chapters wasn’t specifically applicable to our kiddos, but rather to all kids.
Very disappointing. I’ve never read an autism book without learning at least 1 new thing. Now I have.
Lastly, it’s super suspicious when you Google the author or reverse search her image and NOTHING shows up.
Again I think someone wrote this with AI and is profiting off our community. Bad form! Do not buy!

Learn conversational agility to think quickly on your feet, be incredibly smooth, funny, and clever - all at once. Goodbye awkward silences! No matter where you lie on the spectrum of awkward to engaging, witty banter is always the end goal - and it should be. Witty banter, and all the steps that lead to it, allows you to disarm and connect with anyone, immediately exit boring small talk mode, and instantly build rapport.

Love the specific tactics in this book. Short and to the point, while staying engaging. For the cost of a coffee, I learned a ton. And I was so impressed that I downloaded ALL of your books. Every last one of them. Thank you for making the art of social interaction tangible and crackable!
