Historia
The firebombing of Tokyo. Strategic Air Command. John F. Kennedy. Dr. Strangelove. George Wallace. All of these have one man in common—General Curtis LeMay, who remains as enigmatic and controversial as he was in life. Until now. Warren Kozak traces the trajectory of America’s most infamous general, from his troubled background and heroic service in Europe to his firebombing of Tokyo, guardianship of the U.S. nuclear arsenal in the Cold War, frustrated career in government, and short-lived political run.

The Reid was a bit amateur. Mispronouncing common words and well-known names, like Louis Brandeis.

Historia
When you ask people about their most cherished values in life, "happiness" is always at the top of the list. But surprisingly few people claim real happiness. We seem to be completely satisfied with nothing, and indeed, there is little correlation between the circumstances of people's lives and how happy they are.

Excellent insights.

This is a very sensible, a very cogent, a very well thought out, and I will re-searched Dell, do you elements of attaining happiness, and the world justification for doing so. One “that was left out of the book, but could be a summary of the book, is Abraham Lincoln’s quip that “people are as happy as they choose to be.” Theres a bit more to it than that, and the author does an excellent job fleshing this out.

Historia
Andrew Roberts' Napoleon is the first one-volume biography to take advantage of the recent publication of Napoleon's thirty-three thousand letters, which radically transform our understanding of his character and motivation. At last we see him as he was: protean multitasker, decisive, surprisingly willing to forgive his enemies and his errant wife Josephine.

They were the last great band of the '60s and the first great band of the '70s. They rose, somewhat unpromisingly, from the ashes of the Yardbirds to become one of the biggest-selling rock bands of all time - and eventually paid the price for it, with disaster, drug addiction, and death.

Meticulous research, thorough knowledge, clear entertaining writing style
Revisado: 09-10-18
The author know the business of rock, pop, blues, etc., the history also, plus his research is detailed, meticulous yet still interesting. His writing style is entertaining and engaging. You get the sense he is a fan, yet he doesn’t white wash the many shortcoming of the group, it’s individual members, and other key players. His epilogue is detailed and interesting, and his speculations seem reasonable. The narrator does an excellent job of telling the story and changing characters. A lot of foul language though. My wife was very disinterested after hearing a passage for that very reason.

But when his father, a member of the State Security police, is arrested the night before the Young Pioneer ceremony, Sasha is left to re-evaluate everything he’s been taught about Stalin and what it truly means to be a good comrade.

great story based on history we must all know
Revisado: 09-23-16
What made the experience of listening to Breaking Stalin's Nose the most enjoyable?
Listening wasn't enjoyable but it was compelling. What is griping about this story is that it illustrates so well the experience of living under totalitarianism. Its a simplified, less dense version of 1984, yet just as compelling.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The narrator
What about Mark Turetsky’s performance did you like?
His inflections. His reading seemed quite consistent with how I imagine a young boys mind works.
