Completed book three...
the twists and turns will have u up at nights. deeply satisfying to find a book that doesn't go exactly how you expect it to. I used to be annoyed at how every thought was explained to death but eventually I just accepted it and found it quite funny after a while. I'm glad to see Tolan finally developing some backbone and some confidence in his abilities. My patience for his self doubts (however justified they seemed to be - the writer puts considerable efforts into explaining this to death also), were all but evaporated, but I'm glad I hung in there. Best one yet. Moving on to the next.
p.s. I found the box set after purchasing the individual books one and two. I was very upset with myself for wasting two audible credit. I ended up using one credit to purchase the box set just to read the third. So the review above was referring to Book three really. All were good reads but I particularly enjoyed book three.

interesting but slightly repetitive

I found the content engaging and the story line interesting for the most part but the writer felt the next to explain without end exactly what Tolan was thinking every second of his existence. I would have liked some things to be left to the imagination to avoid repetition...but overall a great story so far. With that said, I will be purchasing book three shortly

loved and hated the heroin

loved and hated the heroin for reasons that were mostly society's fault. Her mind was so messed up that I wanted to slap her at some points. Reflective. But this was the point of the book, which I appreciated, so overall a good book. I hated the narrator's expressions but it was the expression of the heroin so I forgive her. I think I just disliked the heroin's misguided notions, tendency to use people at their expense to fit her current agenda and disliked her personality overall...but I liked the book. Strange. Brilliant writer I guess🤷

Spoiler alert, maybe.
Loved this. Loved that I could not predict the entire book the way I usually do with the recent contemporary romance books. The book just kept throwing me curve balls all the way through. Didn't give it 5 stars because I hated that the hereoin was so attracted to "damaged" and kept throwing herself at him but I guess she needed the reprieve.
