Historia
Trauma nurse Aly Cappellucci doesn’t need any more kinks. She likes the one she’s landed on just fine. To her, nothing could top the masked men she follows online. Unless one of those men was shirtless, heavily tattooed, and waiting for her in her bedroom. She dreams about being hunted by one in particular, of him chasing her down and doing deliciously dark things to her willing body. She never could have guessed that by sending one drunken text, those dreams would become her new reality.

really fun!
Revisado: 12-18-24
So, based on the trigger warnings, I was expecting Hannibal Lecter.
Not so much! It had a few dark elements, nmbyt nothing I found disturbing and their relationship didn't have any crazy toxic elements. it came across as pretty adorable.
Ir was acted so well. Love the enthusiasm they brought to their characters. Normally I hate duet. But this landed really, really well. Well worth the buy, no complaints!

The moment we felt the mate bond, Kaci had only one choice to make: surrender to instinct and bear our pups like a good girl or force us to chase her down, belt her ass, and breed her hard. She chose hard, and she got it. Over and over again. But the truth is she was ours long before we marked her.

steamy & funny

The performances are so spot-on. I'm blushing half the time and giggling the other half. Ryker is a riot! And there's a bunch of side characters that are just pretty gosh-darn delightful.

Ashley Perrin is fresh out of college and starting a job as a community liaison for the Third District–the city’s only sector with more alien residents than humans. Ashley’s barely found where the paper clips are kept when she’s beset with constituent complaints–from too much noise at the Annual Lupidian Celebration Parade to a trip-and-fall chicken to a very particular type of alien hornet that threatens the very city itself. And if that’s not terrifying enough, Ashley is next up at the office karaoke night.

So much fun.
Revisado: 10-07-24
I really liked it. Scalzi just writes fun, relatable characters, and honestly he writes women better than most women do. This is a quick book but the plot and characters are great, the pacing is good, I have no complaints!
The voice actor did a great job, too!!

I earned my reputation among magicians for a reason: one wrong move and you're dead. Killer, they called me, and killing is what I'm best at. Except her. The one I was supposed to take, the one I should have killed–I didn't. The cult that once controlled me wants her, and I'm not about to lose my new toy to them.

Quick Read! (Yeah, it's 12 hrs+ but it FELT...)
Revisado: 06-15-24
I read this after the Losers duet, and so I DID miss a bit the in depth characters, BUT this one is very plot heavy, high states, high action, and 1/3 the length, so that's expected. Can't have everything in the bag and the bag not be heavy.
That being said, it was well written to the MAX.
Besides, the MH (Leon) was hot as f***. Just everything. Normally I'm a plot person and I sort of skip over the hot scenes because you know, dime a dozen. NOT HERE. All just so yum. The MF (Rae) was amazing, curious and loyal but not dumb. She made a few decisions I wouldn't have made if I were her as regards to her longevity, but I wanted that because I wanted Leon to scold and punish her a bit (what?... Don't judge me) so that worked for me for sure.
Anyway, onto the next.
The performances were SO good. Gregory Salinas sounds a tad bit like Keanu Reeves... In a good way, I like it. It's sort of growly, it did it for me for sure. I'd listen to more of him.
Desiree Ketchum was delightful. She did a great job!! Great performance.

I made one foolish mistake and ended up with a debt I had only one way to pay...by bowing my head and submitting to the men I swore I hated. But in their dominance, I found catharsis. In the darkness we share, parts of myself were brought to the light. Now I'm torn between the future I thought I wanted and a life I once believed was only fantasy. What am I willing to sacrifice? My pride and carefully laid plans, my determination that I can do it all alone? Or my new-found freedom to live without boundaries with the men who turned my world on its head?

Definitely read this with a galleon of milk nearby...
Revisado: 05-20-24
...Because it is spicy. No, seriously, people SAY every book is sexy if it has sex in it. This is way beyond sex, people. Major kink is in play, so I wouldn't dream of reading it unless you are really cool with a lot of stuff.
And it has been mentioned that you don't have to read the first to understand the second, but I don't think that's true. In fact, thinking about what it'd be like to read this before book one demands Olympic-levels of mental gymnastics.
it is lighter than the first because their trauma has more or less been handled in the first, so you just can sort of sit back and enjoy the absolute filthiest sex ever.
The resolution is satisfying, the characters are great, the HEA is delish.
The performances are top-notch. There are several male characters and they're all very distinct. I always know who's talking even if I missed the name.
The female voice does an amazing job, too. Seriously, at one point I meditated about how well she does male voices for a few minutes. Exceptionally talented.
J. Tipstone once again delivers epicly as well. He's the boss. Makes it look easy.
Honestly, so worth every penny. If you're looking for a TON of steam and some good feels, definitely get yourself in on this.

I’d been prom queen and cheer captain—high school’s most savage Queen Bee. I could have everything I wanted. Except them. The freaks, the weirdos, the school’s ultimate losers: Manson, Jason, Lucas, and Vincent. Our hatred for each other couldn’t keep us apart, not even when my own mistake got Manson expelled and made me the ultimate villain to the rest of them.

Triggered, but so good.
Revisado: 05-16-24
Let's start by saying that I haven't gotten to start Book 2 yet. I just finished Book 1.
But Book One I couldn't put down! I mean, it triggered me and sent me under a spiral my therapist will probably have to figure out BUT it was more than well-written. It was deep, well-paced, the scenes were super-hot, the characters well-fleshed out.
Trigger warning--if you were ruthlessly bullied in Highschool, or you had to hide who you were in highschool to avoid a social execution, then approach this with caution. There's a lot of that, and it's delved into. The author definitely thrusts you into that closet of horrors.
But if you're into BDSM... Like, how can you NOT read this though? I dunno. Good luck on your journey. Let's just say there is a LOT of sex in this book, and it's like all 10/10 spicy. There are M/M scenes... So, if you don't like that, turn away. But I LOVED IT. It was done so yummily. There was so much emotion, it really worked. It wasn't just screwing, they were changing emotionally. Loved that. The whole group had a sort of synergy that sort of felt good in the jellies. Not to mention that all the guys were written different--and not just performed different, but OBVIOUSLY written distinctly.
Let's look at the performance for a second here. It's an Audiobook, after all.
PERFECT. This is my second J. Tipstone book, and I got it because he did it, but MAN he does it so well, it's crazy. He makes hot scenes hotter, sad scenes sadder, does all the moves. I don't know, he's the GOAT of Audible.
This is my first book coming across Jaclyn Kelso, but I think she does a great job. She does guys very well, all the voices are awesome, VERY enjoyable.
This book is an 11/10. Hold onto your panties.

This is an extensive collection of short essays and other pieces by C. S. Lewis that have been brought together in one volume for the first time. As well as his many books, letters, and poems, Lewis also wrote a great number of essays and shorter pieces on various subjects. He wrote extensively on Christian theology and the defense of faith but also on various ethical issues and on the nature of literature and storytelling. In this essay collection we find a treasure trove of Lewis' reflections on diverse topics.

WOW. Talk about worth the credit!
Revisado: 03-30-24
It took a long time to get through this. It takes many hours.
But so much of it was so good! They were essays that I would have never come across normally, and so much was just so stunningly poignant and reflective. I've learned so much and put it into so many conversations about ethics, and morality and christianity and existentialism. Which are like my favorite topics.
A CS Lewis fan can't go wrong.
And Ralph Cosham does like an A+ job. My brain just adopted him AS CS Lewis at some point. That's just the voice I've decided he has. Well done!

Is it possible to disagree politically and love unconditionally? The reaction of evangelicals to political and cultural shifts in recent years revealed what they value most. Lurking beneath our Bible-laced rhetoric, faith claims, books, and sermons is a relentless drive to WIN! But the church is not here to win. By every human measure, our Savior lost. On purpose. With a purpose. And we are his body. We are not in it to win anything. We are in it for something else entirely. That something else is what this book is about.

This resonated with me big-time.
Revisado: 03-30-24
I'm serious, this book changed my outlook on life, and actually helped me love my neighbors.
Not the ones who agree with me, but you know. The other ones. ;)
It made me not worry about it and am able to release some of that hate, that anxiety, and just love those on the other side of the isle and not take it personally when people disagree with me. It was such a relief to read, and it's brought me closer to Christ by loving my enemies. I couldn't be more thankful that he wrote this.
I've read it twice since the summer. My pastor quotes it all the time, and I bought the physical book to give out whenever anyone I know tells me how hard it is being Christian and keeping an eye on politics. And it's helped everyone. It's easy to understand and digest this really hard commandment and put it into practice and really come to terms with it. 5/5 for sure.

I legit don't know how I feel
Revisado: 03-30-24
I hated this book so hard. Ever wish you can go and NOT read a book? This has nothing to do with the author's writing ability (it's good, honest, she's talented) and it has nothing to do with the people that read it (you can read what you want, baby, not shame) but there IS a chance you're not gonna just not like it, but it to get into your head in a bad way.
It was well written, well performed, but I seriously couldn't have sexy thoughts after reading this for like 3 weeks straight. And I mean that literally. My sex drive shut down for like... safety reasons I guess? as a consequence of reading this duet.
It was DARK.
It was DISTURBING. And no, not like, sexy disturbing. Disturbing. It rubs your nose right in the sex-trade and it's BAD. Bad feels.
And then the characters are so much more broken and they go into kinks that can't be healthy. Not to shame, but I don't know... There should be a limit? There was this underlying helpless feeling that made me cringe.
It was not hot for me. It made me need a hot shower for all the wrong reasons. I have legit read horror books and walked away with a better bounce to my step. So much... blood, I guess? So much cutting. So much torture and revenge and Adaline is so not as sweet as she was in the first because she got so broken and it gave me icky-feels. Like, I'm not saying that you wouldn't be broken after that experience, but wow. I did not feel good.
You know what it was? It's that she didn't really have a choice. There was a ghost of a choice that kept shifting (like, "I wouldn't do it if she hated it" and then saying "This is happening no matter what" the next, I wasn't impressed the the consistency of Zade's forcing this through), and yeah, she liked it eventually so it was dubious consent, but Zane was a train that was coming into her station whether she wanted it or not. And I don't just mean the sex, I mean the whole thing. I think it stuck in my brain and my brain kept on going, "This is your nightmare if the guy's not hot. Hence, this duet is a long detailed fever-dream-style nightmare.
That being said, it was written and performed well. Just... I don't know. Wish I hadn't, honestly. Too dark for me.

I thought I was being clever, hiding out right under their noses, but Braum Vetter and Wilhelm Brunner caught me infiltrating their company. Then they made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Now these stern, sexy billionaires own me, and they plan to make sure I know it. They're going to strip me bare and spank me thoroughly for the slightest hint of defiance, then share and enjoy me as shamefully they please, ravaging me wherever, whenever, and however they choose.

Found the smexiest book on Audible
Revisado: 03-30-24
Okay, so, like, where do I even start? I'm legit obsessed with this audiobook. I’ve blasted through it like 9 times already. No joke, when I’m in this limbo of finding nothing good, this is my go-to. It's just... ugh, everything.
So here’s the tea: it's kind of the hottest thing ever? Like, there are moments I’m just blushing so hard, thinking, "Am I listening to some real-deal sexy audio-porn?" It’s wild. They don’t hold back – we’re talking the full spectrum of steamy stuff, like breeding kinks, spanking, pet-play, you name it. But then, plot twist – it’s also this super intense character and relationship growth journey. Like, you FEEL the vibes change and grow, it’s insane.
And okay, there’s this whole punishment angle, which is kinda not my usual vibe, but the way it's all about the connection and respect they end up having? Totally here for it. It’s got this weirdly warm, fuzzy feeling amidst all the hot chaos.
The ending? So satisfying. It’s all feel-good, no weird twists, just love. And the characters are so real. Like, trying to solve Wilhelm’s damage, Daniel & Victor who steal the show, and Jacey’s just this young, fierce chick who totally holds her own with them because she's super resilient. Love that.
Also, this thing is a beast in length, but it flies by? I first got into it on a drive from Texas to Virginia, and swear it made that trip feel like a blink. That’s some magic right there.
And don’t even get me started on the accents – Wilhelm’s especially is just... chef’s kiss. Pure fire.
Legit feels like I struck gold with this one. Total fave, no contest.
