Well written, good story, and definitely worth reading. I enjoyed the diction style of futuristic people. I'll recommend to my students as a good choice to encourage their reading skills.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

One stayed at home to raise her children and manage the family apple orchard; the other followed a dream and traveled the world to become a famous photojournalist. lovely characters

Understanding where each character is mentally and emotionally, I knew I'd have some tears as the book continued. Really enjoyed the historical information to help connect the people to a time period.
