A bunch of quotes wrapped into a boring fiction.
Revisado: 04-25-24
The story was boring, but the ideas to love were great. The fictional story distracted from the book’s valuable lessons. Would have been better as a self care guide from the author’s mouth.

Historia
From a young age, Ed Gamble's immaculate bibs and extremely dirty nappies hinted at his capacious appetite. Before he could walk, Ed already knew that he preferred poached salmon to puree, that celery was a calorie-sapping waste of time, and that mashed potatoes should be made with lashings of butter. Whilst he might ordinarily have been upset by the calls of 'precocious little s--t' coming from his family, he was too busy stuffing his gob and staging rebellions against the patronising list of misery that is a children's menu.

Historia
The Covert Passive Aggressive Narcissist: Finding Healing After Hidden Emotional and Psychological Abuse is the most comprehensive and helpful audiobook on the topic of covert narcissism. This type of narcissism is one of the most damaging forms because the abuse is so hidden and so insidious. You can be in a relationship that can last for decades and not realize you are being psychologically and emotionally controlled, manipulated, and abused.

Life changing
Revisado: 06-22-23
I just realized my parents are bothering covert narcissists. This book helped me unravel that tremendously. I too had a mother that sang, “anything you can do, I can do better” while she cleaned. It’s crazy how common this one song is for covert narcissists to sing. That really freaked me out and validated my entire childhood. Great read. Moving on to her next book about healing.

Historia
As a traditional psychotherapist, Dr. Brian Weiss was astonished and skeptical when one of his patients began recalling past-life traumas that seemed to hold the key to her recurring nightmares and anxiety attacks. His skepticism was eroded, however, when she began to channel messages from the “space between lives”, which contained remarkable revelations about Dr. Weiss’ family and his dead son. Using past-life therapy, he was able to cure the patient and embark on a new, more meaningful phase of his own career.

Saved my life
Revisado: 05-31-23
This book was given to me on a date almost 20 years ago. I never saw the guy again and can’t remember his name. Back then the Weiss Institute did give referrals to Doctors he had trained. I was able to get hypnotherapy and cured my anxiety by Dr. John Ryder. Every now and then I listen to this audio book version to remind myself of all that I learned.

Diagnosed 23 yrs ago - Learned MORE from this book!
Revisado: 03-10-23
I was diagnosed at 18 officially. Even after writing amazing research papers about ADHD in college and being on meds since diagnosis, this book added more to my knowledge base. I thought that since I was medicated that it fixed ALL my ADHD symptoms and that whatever it didn’t fix was just because I was a lazy human or careless. I never realized how much of what I perceived as my flaws may actually be because of my ADHD. I never thought about the possibility that maybe the meds only “fix” a portion of my symptoms and not ALL of them and that I may not actually be a sh*t human! Thank you so much for writing this AND having it as an audio book! Oh yeah, do you ever turn on a tv show and walk out of the room immediately just to return and rewind a million times so it takes you a full day to watch a program? Just curious… love you guys!
