Historia
In these 10 eye-opening lectures by a practicing doctor and medical educator, you’ll walk through a series of medical mystery cases ripped from history and involving well-known historical figures whose identities are nevertheless hidden from you. Every one of these cases requires you to use your detective skills to identify and diagnose the mystery patient just like the doctors that attended them. In the process, you’ll learn fascinating insights into medicine: both the medicine that was practiced thousands of years ago and the medicine doctors practice today.

10 great mini mysteries
Revisado: 07-21-21
Loved the presentation of each case and was glad that he pointed out that racism can and still does play a huge roll when someone is seeking medical treatment.
And that he had no problems pointing out the misogyny that can very easily kill women.
I’m off to get part 2 of this series. I hope it’s as well done as this one, but I don’t see any reason it wouldn’t be.

Historia
Science fiction allows us to go places we can only dream of seeing - other worlds, distant stars, entirely different galaxies. While not every story is concerned with the hard science behind space travel and other futuristic ventures, fiction can give us amazing insight into what we could be capable of and what we dream of doing. In these 10 lectures, Professor Erin Macdonald interweaves real science and the achievements of the imagination to reveal the truth that underlies our favorite stories and sheds light on what the future may hold.

People who don’t finish a book shouldn’t review it
Revisado: 07-16-21
So many of the reviews say “I stop after (internet x amount of time here)”. I listen to all 4 hours and wishes there was more.
Yes it’s a dumbed down version of physics because not all of us had access to a physics class in our high schools. And some of us had shitty teachers who would have taught the stupid thing in Swahili, as my algebra teacher did.
Her content was amazing and wonderful. She referenced so many sci-fi shows that anyone who points out only one show didn’t listen to the entire book.
Yes some shows got more “air time” than others but for good reasons. Star Trek and Star Wars are some of the oldest shows and have have years to have questions asked abs not answered.
I really hope Audible asks her to do a part 2. Will be listening to it as so as I hear about it if they do.
Most of the complaints are just being assholes. Ignore them and spend 4 hours learning at least 1 thing you didn’t know before hand. I’m sure there will be at least 1 thing. Even if it’s small.

Historia
A Modern Day Havamal is a fresh and new take on the words of Odin presented in many previous translations. This book is designed to offer the Havamal in a easy-to-understand and current take on the English language. Modern followers of Norse Heathenry, Asatru, and other pagan paths should find this version of the Havamal to be a good listen and deliver the spirit of the words of Odin in a new way.

First “book on tape” I could listen to without tuning out
Revisado: 05-22-20
I have been trying to read this book for years but would always get lost in the names, place names and other words I didn’t know how to pronounce. I figured I’d give an audio version a try, hoping I would be able to pay attention to it. This is the first time it had ever happened.

Historia
This rib-tickling new novel was inspired by the old Norse poem The Thrymskvitha which tells what happens when Thor's hammer is stolen and he has to dress as a bride to retrieve it. Told by Thialfi the goatboy, and featuring Norse gods, foolish giants, and a pair of cranky goats, this one will have the whole family laughing out loud.

Laughed my a*^ off.
Revisado: 05-22-20
The voices were great and the pace was perfect. I have a hard time listening to “books on tape” but this book was able to keep my attention. I plan on looking for more books by this author and these readers.
