Historia
Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell returned from his star-crossed mission in Afghanistan with his bones shattered and his heart broken. So many had given their lives to save him-and he would have readily done the same for them. As he recuperated, he wondered why he and others, from America's founding to today, had been willing to sacrifice everything-including themselves-for the sake of family, nation, and freedom.

Historia
That’s the real life story of country music star Jimmy Wayne. It’s a miracle that Jimmy survived being hungry and homeless, bouncing in and out of the foster care system, and sleeping in the streets. But he didn’t just overcome great adversity in his life; he now uses his country music platform to help children everywhere, especially teenagers in foster care who are about to age out of the system. Walk to Beautiful is the powerfully emotive account of Jimmy’s horrendous childhood and the love shown him by Russell and Bea Costner, the elderly couple who gave him a stable home and provided the chance to complete his education. Jimmy says of Bea, “She changed every cell in my body.”

Just couldn't stop listening to this book!!
Revisado: 02-06-16
What did you love best about Walk to Beautiful?
This book has been beautifully written by Jimmy Wayne and Ken Abraham. And the fact that it is the true story of Jimmy Wayne's life made it even more compelling. Tears welled up in my eyes more than once while listening to the telling of this heartfelt story.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Walk to Beautiful?
I will never look at the situations that at risk children find themselves experiencing in the same way again! Envisioning a teenager living in a filthy trailer with no heat in the middle of winter in North Carolina absolutely broke my heart. My perspective has been changed forever!
What does Gabe Wicks bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I think the narrator was very in tune with Jimmy Wayne's life experiences and gave a believable and empathetic performance
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Nothing.
Any additional comments?
Jimmy Wayne speaks from his personal experiences beginning by taking the listener through the heart-wrenching betrayal, heartbreak and losses he experienced as a child. Jimmy's story then evolves into the acceptance and loving kindness he experiences as an older teenager into young adulthood. And then Jimmy Wayne tells of the success he achieves as a country singer leading to the beautiful walk that begins to fulfill a personal commitment he made to himself to bring attention to the plight of at risk children who sadly age-out of the foster system at age 18. Jimmy Wayne works tirelessly to change this!! I have listened to this audible book 4 times since I made the purchase! I highly recommend this book to everyone!!

Historia
When his mom decided it was time for them to leave for good, Thomas knew they better get far away or he'd come and find them. It was Christmas Day, with Mom sweating in a tiny room over a tiny stove, and Dad watching college basketball and drinking with a vengeance. "Thomas, I want you to get your sister and go out to the car, okay?" Mom had promised them that they would be getting a special Christmas present today. Just the two kids. They couldn’t mention it to Dad. This is her present, Thomas thought....

Historia
Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

Historia
Despite constant efforts to declutter your home, do papers still accumulate like snowdrifts and clothes pile up like a tangled mess of noodles?Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you'll never have to do it again. Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever.

Unrealistic
Revisado: 02-06-16
Would you try another book from Marie Kondo and/or Emily Woo Zeller?
No
Any additional comments?
The author set unrealistic expectations. I could never possibly go through my entire 3 story home and tidy every room at the same time as the author states is necessary. That would take at least a week vacation or more to complete that task. I need guidance to follow for compartmentalizing the daunting task I have at hand within the realm of the reality of my life requiring me to spend 50 - 60 hours a week away from home.
