Repetitive and Boring
Revisado: 02-21-15
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Major incidents in his life.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Some of the historic facts were interesting and that is what I really wanted. His love life, his family are an important background, but to hear that his first wife was like his mother became so repetitive, I did not finish the book

Historia
Bennie Rosato, Mary DiNunzio, Judy Carrier, and Anne Murphy are back with all cylinders firing in Accused. Mary Dinuzio has just been promoted to partner and is about to take on her most unusual case yet, brought to the firm by a thirteen-year-old genius with a penchant for beekeeping. Allegra Gardner's sister Fiona was murdered six years ago, and it seemed like an open-and-shut case: the accused, Lonnie Stall, was seen fleeing the scene; his blood was on Fiona and her blood was on him; most damningly, Lonnie Stall pleaded guilty.

Getting old
Revisado: 11-20-13
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A better story. This is far fetched. The author should keep to things that actually happen in a law practice. The premise is flawed. The characters get annoying after awhile. Murder is okay. Investigation is okay. The child who is the center of this is really a fantasy. The Italian background is okay, but the yelling and screaming, etc has no place. That might be what Italians do, but this is a mystery and is over played and irritating.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Not Scottoline. I just downloaded Michael Connelly.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of January LaVoy?
Her voice is grating especially when she goes Italian
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Emesis

This narrator is terrible. He ruins the book
Revisado: 08-27-13
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
The story is okay. Not one of Lescroart's best, but I remained interested.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Nothing special
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Absolutely. If the book had been uninteresting, I would have tossed.
Did The Hunter inspire you to do anything?
No.

Historia
When Dr. Mike Scanlon is called to serve as an army doctor in Afghanistan, he’s acutely aware of the dangers he’ll face and the hardships it will bring his wife, Chloe, and their newborn baby. And deep inside, he doesn’t think of himself as a hero, but a healer. However, in an ironic turn of events, as Mike operates on a wounded soldier in a war-torn country, Chloe dies at home in the suburbs, in an apparently freak household accident. Devastated, he returns home to bury her, only to discover that the life he left behind has fallen apart.

Not up to her earlier books
Revisado: 08-05-13
Would you try another book from Lisa Scottoline and/or Jeremy Davidson?
I would be hesitant. I liked Scottoline's early books that stuck to what she knows, i.e., attorneys
Would you ever listen to anything by Lisa Scottoline again?
Possibly
What didn’t you like about Jeremy Davidson’s performance?
I found many of the voices annoying. The French accent was okay, but the men sounded all the same.
What character would you cut from Don't Go?
The story itself is too unbelievable and twisted. The author knows little to nothing about podiatrists and what they can and cannot do. Is this a story about returning vets, or drug addiction or loss of family or family jealousy?
Any additional comments?
If you like Scottoline, do not buy this book. It is not the real author!

This book was hard to finish. Mushy. I will be hesitant to keep this author on my preferred list. It took me weeks to finish. On and on and on. Yuck!
