Historia
Late in the night of April 14, 1912, the mighty Titanic, a passenger liner traveling from Southampton, England, to New York City, struck an iceberg four hundred miles south of Newfoundland. Its sinking over the next two and a half hours brought the ship—mythological in name and size—100 years of infamy.

Not what I expected

Any additional comments?
I enjoyed "Voyagers of the Titanic" much more the second time than the first time I listened to it. It seemed very dry and boring with lots of numbers and statistics and lists of names and where people were from, but the next time I listened to it, I was able to listen to the story behind all those people and it was very interesting indeed.

Now, decades later, these conversations can be heard in this digitally remastered eight-and-a-half-hour audio program. This audiobook includes the foreword written and read by Caroline Kennedy; introduction written and read by historian Michael Beschloss and the photos from the hardcover book, as well as complete annotations from Michael Beschloss, both in downloadable PDF format.

She pulls no punches
Revisado: 05-24-13
What did you love best about Jacqueline Kennedy: Historic Conversations on Life with John F. Kennedy?
I loved Mrs. Kennedy's honesty. I understand why she did not want these recordings released for 50 years. There were powerful people mentioned in the story in a not very flattering way.
Any additional comments?
I was disappointed that the death of JFK was not covered in this book. It had apparently been covered recently with another reporter and so that Mrs. Kennedy would not have to relive that horrible event again, it was agreed that it would not be covered in these conversations. I wish I had known that before I purchased the book but I might not have purchased the book knowing that and I am certainly glad that I did.

Good story but...

Where does Fighter Pilot rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Top half
What other book might you compare Fighter Pilot to and why?
"A Higher Call: An Incredible True Story of Combat and Chivalry in the War-Torn Skies of World War II" is another WWII fighter pilot story that I enjoyed even more than this one.
Any additional comments?
Robin Olds was a rough, tough, gruff, old breed soldier that was a "get things done" man. I enjoyed his story. I would love for my father to listen to it but there was quite a lot of foul language that almost led me to turn it off and I don't consider myself a prude at all. I will not be recommending it to my father.

A different kind of slave story.
Revisado: 05-24-13
Where does The Kitchen House rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Certainly in the top 20%
Any additional comments?
I liked the way the author uses the central area of the Kitchen House to tell the story of what goes on both in the "Big House" and with the slaves. It was a very different story of slaves than I had ever heard tell before as they were somewhat privileged slaves but slaves nonetheless.
